Legitimately just threw their Super Bowl window away. Bortles maxed out his potential this past postseason and it still wasn’t enough. JAX is ****ed.

Good for them, he was able to navigate them deep into the playoffs and was ****ing CLUTCH @ Pittsburgh
That game is what earned him the extension, he repeatedly killed their ass in their own house... loves me a big strong pocket passer in the Roethlisberger mold |

I agree. He got them to the AFC Championship game in Foxborough and damn near won the thing. He's not Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady but their QB situation could be worse. Then there's the possibility he'll get better. It's not like he had great WRs last season and his o-line is pretty damn good but not elite.

Not surprised by this at all.
Jags will compete deep into the playoffs again next year. Their Defense will be great. Bortles has gained confidence. Fournette is simply a beast. Jags look like a team with a bright few years a head of them for their fanbase. |

Not a Bortles fan, but he did play well enough to almost beat the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.

A pretty outstanding deal with Jags. I'd rather have him than Cousins or any other free agent QB currently available. And he showed enough to make you wonder if maybe he's a good postseason QB. Their best route is to draft a QB to compete, and where the Jags are picking, that's a gamble. Signing him only to 3 years allows them to see what they have in Bortles while keeping the window open for a young QB to outshine him.
