I just fail to see how the bear can do the damage. One mistake and he actually lets the rhino poke him and it's over.

That being said, women would prefer the bear.

I gotta think eventually the bear's 10 inch claws would carve the rhino up to where it bleeds out, even with it's thick skin. All it has to do is avoid the head/horn.

Yes, rhinos have natural armor! Their thick skin is particularly tough and acts as a shield against bites, scratches, and even horns from other rhinos.

The dermis, the second layer of a rhino's skin, is especially thick, sometimes reaching up to an inch thick. It's made up of densely packed collagen fibers that interweave in a lattice structure, giving it incredible strength.

This armor isn't completely impenetrable, of course. Rhinos can still be injured by sharp objects like poachers' knives or powerful predators' claws. But it does provide them with a significant amount of protection in the wild.

Think I'm going with AP over HP if I'm hunting a rhino.

Lol.

A rhinoceros can weigh between 3,000 to 5,000 pounds and charge at speeds nearly 34 mph; so, a smaller rhino is sixteen times the size of Tyreek Hill and is a great deal faster. An adult male grizzly typically weighs 600 pounds (yes, some can grow to nearly 1000- but that is the exception).

On a grassy plain where the bear can't climb a tree to escape? The rhino will absolutely steamroll and then bludgeon the bear to death. It's no contest.

A rhino would be 2-4 times the size of a bear. It has tremendous muscle and a very thick hide as well as a horn. You ever watch Rhinos up-end Cape Buffalo? By the time they get to the end of their life, rhinos really have no natural predators. Lions’ teeth and claws are not enough to kill a rhino. Neither would a bear’s teeth and claws be enough to kill a rhino.

10 inches? We're not talking wolverine. We're talking grizzlies! They have claws around 4" long.

Apparently the largest ever Grizzly killed in the wild weighed 1,600 pounds.

The largest polar bear ever shot in the wild weighed 2,200 pounds.

I can’t imagine the fear humans had for these beasts prior to the invention of guns. I was reading recently that the original word for bear in some language, I can’t remember but I think it was Hungarian, has been lost to time because the people were too afraid to say it, fearing it would summon the bear lol
