Remodeling.....the nasty begins

We ripped a three level deck off the house and put on an entirely new 2 levels and has gone well....We ripped out 6 windows, redid them, all looks fantastic. And yesterday we emptied the kitchen cabinets. Today is demo the kitchen day....now shit gets real as they say. Will have electrician in weekend to do his magic, then drywall and get started on that part, all has to be done for Cabinet install July 16, hope countertops can do a 10 day turn and give s our life back.

Marrried since 73 but its like walkin on eggshells round these parts....

Survival tips?

This is not the answer. We are building right now. So many decisions to be made.

I totally relate. Hopefully our remodel finishes this week. What everyone says is true. It's taken longer and cost more than we thought/estimated. We spent a few nights at a hotel and currently my wife and kids are out of town for the week. Definitely has been stressful at times but still totally worth it.

Heh, since I haven't worked full time since October so our place has been remodeling hell.

First off, last fall I put a new roof on the shed. And lots of repairs. And I'm still renovating the inside of it this summer.

Once that was done, it was on to the kitchen I had been working on for two years.

Then it was on to my disaster of a garage.

And then the electrical mess....

And countless other odds and ends...and I'm still not done with everything but I'm about out of money and need to get my ass back to work to pay for all of this.

Oh, and I forgot about the surprise carpenter ant damage to the back porch room. That was disturbing.
