Can someone please explain this to me?

Let me preface this by saying I grew up in South St Louis, and our motto was “we’re good at meth, not math” so I’m struggling to understand this.

Was arguing with someone who was talking INT%. They were saying Tua’s is right there with Pat. But Pat had played a lot more games than Tua. They were saying INT % is a stat that isn’t on a games played basis. But makes no sense as Pat had played more games so has had more opportunities to throw more picks. Their argument was it’s not based on games played, while telling me you take the number of INTs by the games played.

Am I just not understanding this, or where they the dumbass?

INT% is the percentage of passes thrown that were intercepted.

Don't converse with someone who claims Tua is right there with Patrick.

To get the INT% you take the number of INTs and divide it by the total number of pass attempts. Using Pat’s 2024 season as an example, he threw 14 INTs and attempted 597 passes. Do the math and it comes out to 2.3%.

Mahomes’ career INT% is 1.8% vs Tua’s 2.3% which is already a significant difference. When you account for the fact that Mahomes has thrown 2000 more passes in his career than Tua, it becomes even more impressive.

Overall...

https://stathead.com/football/vs/pat...tua-tagovailoa

If we were able to take away tipped by WR from Patrick's number it would be much smaller... If they have to pick that stat to say Tua > Patrick, ok I guess... but that is only head to head...

There are 23 quarterbacks between Mahomes and Tua, so you have the green light to call him a butt-****ing moron.
