People need to put respect on John Dorsey's name

I have always claimed that Dorsey was outstanding at drafting during his Chiefs tenure and that he was a top GM.

The man has drafted arguably 3 of the top 15 best players in the league in Mahomes (1st round), Kelce (3rd round) and Hill (5th round): http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...ariest-offense

That's not even talking about Kareem Hunt who has been great. Solid 6th round Olinemen in LDT and Fulton. Decent WRs in Conley and Robinson. Fisher the right pick at #1 overall. Schwartz an outstanding FA signing. Etc.

Dorsey is literally the one who built this historic offense coupled with the brilliance of Andy Reid. He is a major reason why this team is one of the very best in the league.

And people loved to complain about how his defensive draft picks were terrible. Well he got us Chris Jones, Peters who was a very good pick and here we are Dee Ford and Nelson (a late 3rd round pick) who in the end look like good picks. I also trust Kpassagnon to become a good player. I guess for some people he had to build not only a historic offense but also a historic defense.

He might not have been the best with contracts but really I think this was exaggerated.

I can't believe the load of trash I have read about him on this very forum, especially since his departure.

I am not even comparing him to Veach but just put some respect on that man's name!! John Dorsey was a great GM.

Meh. Talent level of this defense regressed horribly during his tenure.

Dorsey didn’t do shit, he just had to be the one to pull the trigger.

Veach was all over Mahomes. He convinced Andy and Andy has to convince Dorsey. With Veach and Andy on the Mahomes train, Dorsey didn’t have much of a choice.

I wasn't for sure if Lamar Hunt had it in his will or final wishes for Chiefs never to draft a quarterback but I give Clark Hunt all the credit to saying yes lets' do it.

He is a good scout when he has the time to put the work in. As a GM, he doesn't really have enough time, though.

General Managers have a lot of responsibilities, IMO, Dorsey had skills at one of them. He's a glorified scout.

Dorsey is a good GM but he made a lot of financial mistakes that hurt us badly. He also valued mid round picks too much.

I think that he made a mistake taking Baker 1st overall. Sam Darnold is better and he is in a worse situation than Baker.
