Africa - Toto

Ride Like the Wind - Christopher Cross

Right Down the Line - Gerry Raferty

Lowdown - Boz Scaggs

Reelin in the Years - Steely Dan

Eye in the Sky - Alan Parsons Project

I think that’s a pretty fair starter kit. Many others have already been named…

Fleetwood Mac pretty much destroys everything else in the genre, for my tastes. That seems too easy though. Not really a fan of much of it, tbh. But I can also get down with My Life.

I had never watched the video until pulling it up for this thread. Anybody know the sample used at the beginning of the music video version (1 min. 4 sec. mark)? I recognize it, as it was also used in a definitely not yacht rock track.

That haircut and beard were on every face of every singer for every theme song to every movie in the late 80's early 90's.

The difficult part is distinguishing yacht rock from easy listening, otherwise Air Supply would dominate this list.
