The DL writ large looked so bad against Denver that I still think it had to have been an overarching contain strategy. What they were doing in that game just didn't make sense to me.
It felt like they worked the field side a ton with stretch plays & screens to get 1x1's on the outside.

The KCSN postgame cracked jokes about how it seemed a blitzer came through, Nix just ran the other direction like a Looney Tunes cartoon.

He tried that little designed run and FAU flattened his ass so they didn't call another keeper.

I have no idea what Spags was doing the 2nd quarter and last drive. I was shocked that Spags only rushed 4 here on the money down and the DE’s appeared to keep contain.

Why would you not blitz him here? Makes no sense. Are we saving looks for if we meet them in the playoffs?

My question would be why are both ILB's chasing the RB there instead of one sitting in the MOF hook zone.

I read somewhere before the game that Nix was significantly worse when he stood in the pocket and tried to go through his progressions/reads than he was under pressure, mostly because of his legs. Maybe Spags was trying to get him to play from the pocket based on those metrics?

Yeah looks like Tranquil was out of position, which made the throw way easier.

Not sure what was happening there. Watching that again I see that the running back drew 3 chiefs defenders with him in the flat. Looked like a blown assignments.

Watch Bolton and Tranquill there - both guys took the flat and neither got depth over the middle. And both seemed to think they were spying.

Someone missed a call there.

EDIT:

Well damn, O.City finally beat me to the punch. He's learning!

I think it’s because Spags expected them to run something quick like a screen since they were already in field goal range
