I'm not saying beating someone up is the right choice but there is a huge difference between a brother defending his sister against another man versus a man hitting a woman.

Unless a man feels his life or bodily harm is threatened I don't see an excuse. Being in pain because of a nut kick is not enough to justify hitting a woman.
