I mean, ultimately it's probably the right call not to do some crazy twist and risk betraying Breaking Bad, but it does end up feeling a little inconsequential. Vince Gilligan always said he thought Jesse managed to escape and start over in Alaska, and that's all this movie really is. It's an epilogue. A good epilogue, but an epilogue.
