Theatres make more money by selling the additional concessions still and people showing up more often. It seems it would be in their interest to handle things that way.

Wait... you couldn't go binge watch the same movie if you wanted to?
That is a deal breaker right there and not worth it for me. The main reason I would want this is for re-watch value for major releases.
