It's just that these numbers are what happens when a great offensive cast is combined with a great QB. We know what happens when an average QB is combined with a great offensive cast. The 2017 Chiefs.
You know who doesn't care about stats? Mahomes. I just listened to his interview on Eisen's podcast and when asked about stats if he was eyeballing the passing TD record, he didn't give a ****. He's all about winning. Then he talked about how Tech lost all their big games, and how he thought the talent around him was good enough to win (bullshit, but respect).
