This is not what Trey Smith did. Smith wrapped up his defender and pulled him away from the play. Smith got beat inside, towards the direction of the screen, wrapped him up and pulled him the opposite direction.

If you take 5 minutes you can find multiple retired NFL OL talking about it being an awful call.
