If you stare down receivers and don't make good secondary reads, you're not worth building a franchise around. If you have all the physical gifts and your field vision is poor enough to require bifocals, you're a 3rd-5th round pick, not a 3rd to 5th overall pick.
The Chiefs need a franchise QB. Matt Stafford likely doesn't have the mental makeup to be that guy. It's like climbing a mountain; you need a better reason to climb it than 'because it is there'. And you need a better reason to draft a guy with as many question marks as Stafford that high besides 'because he's there'
