Galileo steps out onto the stage. He carries with him a globe of the earth.

"Here," he points out, gesturing to a spot on the globe. "Here in Oxford, Mississippi, sits our next draft pick."

"The Cincinnati Bengals select Cedric Johnson, Edge, Mississippi."

"And now let me tell you about Tintin, the most famous comic ever arising from Belgium."

Tintin is a journalist (later an adventurer to avoid Nazi attention during WWII), known for his worldwide travels with his whiskey-swilling dog Snowy. First appearing in 1929 in a Catholic magazine with authoritarian views, Tintin comics continue to be produced today.

Tintin is known for expressing political viewpoints. One of Tintin's earliest adventures was in the pre-WWII Soviet Union, where he was involved in anti-Bolshevik activities. In another early adventure, he traveled to the Belgian Congo, where he supported colonization activities, as the cartoonist was a fan of monarchies over democratic governments.

While the artist researched other cultures to inform his strip, many early Tintin works are not viewed well today due to embracing unflattering stereotypes.
