Yeah, they didn't want the liability that would ensue by allowing 18 year old kids, many of whom grew up in poverty, to sign away their rights because if an outbreak occurred that killed one or more players, the NCAA would pretty much cease to exist (which wouldn't be a bad thing but for the wrong reasons).
