For all the doom and gloom, I am hopeful that the numbers won't get that high. It will get into the millions if we do nothing basically, or very little. I think there will reach a point where all the people who are like "it's the flu" will start taking it seriously. Unfortunately I don't think that moment will come until it becomes very clear that this is a thing that is killing tens of thousands of people.
