It's not the height of gastronomy but it's pretty good and has a pretty firm place in history.
It was Roger Ebert's favorite burger, he actually wrote an op-ed essay about it.
It's the inspiration for ShakeShack, the 'cool new thing' in NY of the past 5 or so years.
It's the first place to make the 'smashburger' where you take prime cuts and make ground beef, then you cook it by smashing it into the grill. This makes thin patties with lots of crispy bits and Malliard reaction.
