1. Browns have started around 25 qbs in 17 years. Alex is stability they badly need
2. Hue jackson has experience with West coast. If Dorsey hires someone, he is definitely running WCO
3. The browns have won 4 games in 3 years. They haven't sniffed a playoff in 13 years. You honestly think the fans will tolerate another rebuild? You think Haslem likes being considered the worst owner in sports?
4. The browns have $118m in cap space. You honestly think they're not going to spend on a ton of veterans who can help right away?
5. Dorsey went on record saying he will have the browns ready not later but immediately
6. Browns have had 4 drafted qbs bust spectacularly in the last 20 years. They can't sell the fans a rookie as their next hope. And Dorsey isn't going to gamble and put all his chips on a rookie qb, especially since the QB he covets most is a big project
Have you ever talked to a browns fan? They're excited as hell about getting an Alex Smith. And they know his limitations. They don't want a rebuild. The super bowl is the farthest thing in their mind. 8-8 for them is their super bowl.
