It's possible for players to emerge from the 3-4 year practice squad-and-cut cycle and turn into starter-quality players. Ron Parker is a clear example on our own team of just that.

I'm... still not going to hold my breath on Witzmann, though. It's nice that he's been with the team already as an inactive player every week, but when you've traveled that much and been tossed around that much, it's rare for guys to just find not only that 2nd-life gear that occurs when everything clicks for them, but also to find the OPPORTUNITY to demonstrate it.

And yeah, he's splitting first team reps now. Great for him. We've seen that before with Eric Kush and Rishaw Johnson.

OL just seems to be one of those positions where just because it's MORE common to find diamonds-in-the-rough for that position group over others, it doesn't mean that every guy who comes along as an undrafted free agent and has plus size/strength/whatever attributes will be your next starting OG.
