Bucs, Mike Evans agree to 2-year, $52M contract

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and five-time Pro Bowl receiver Mike Evans reached agreement on a two-year, $52 million contract that includes $35 million guaranteed, his agent, Deryk Gilmore, told ESPN on Monday.

Evans, who was to enter free agency next week, now has a real chance to start and finish his career as a "Buc for life" in Tampa.

Gilmore said the deal, which averages $26 million per season, is the largest for a wide receiver this old on his third contract.

"Fire Them Cannons!" Evans posted to Instagram on Monday.

If there was serious interest from the Chiefs to pay big for Mike Evans, I'm kind of relieved that this deal got done so that they'll move on to whatever their Plan B was.

30 mil minimum while trying to add as many years as they can possibly talk him into.

He should send Evans a bottle of some swank ass champagne like Tyreek should have done for Devante and Christian Kirk.

This is why trading up for a WR is not stupid. Rookie contracts keep you from being hit with these monster deals to keep one player.
