This would obviously be a hell of a low risk/high reward move that makes so much sense for a team destined to pick in the 30s.

He sounds like a steal.

Also FWIW — this is legit. The journalist has been talking to Baker directly, as they called it an exclusive NYP interview under the link in his original tweet.

Hopefully he will take a 2 year deal because I don’t think he fits into the equation much this year. But next year with Breeland gone...

This would be a nice pickup. Even if he’s a role player

So did Baker find the magic formula for getting out of a rookie deal by year 2?

Yeah, but do we have CBs who are willing to play the gunner position?

Not really because he still has to complete another 3 years of vested seasons to be an UFA.

He’s basically a UDFA with one year of service complete right now.
