Happy Birthday Marty Schottenheimer!

77 years old today. There's a gleam men....a gleam....

Catches way too much shit here sometimes. Loved that era of Chiefs football. I've noticed a lot of very smart men are susceptible to Alzheimer's.

Happy Birthday, Marty. Hope this year is a great one for you and yours!

Chiefs drive in the opener was an homage to Martyball.

He revitalized this sport in this town. He is a legend. Thought our drive to go up 28-17 to put a chokehold on the Titans in the AFCCG probably made him proud.

Didn't realize he and I share the same Birthday. He turns 77 , I turn 57. That's cool!

His dementia and interviews are just crushing. He was a good coach hampered by occasional bad decisions but I felt elevated the talent of most of his players.

I became a Chiefs fan when he was the coach. So for me he's always the first coach I think of when anyone mentions the Chiefs. A lot of good memories there.

I thought I could watch his A Football Life after we won the SB.

I was wrong. It made the first 20 minutes of Saving Private Ryan look like the Disney Channel.

Marty brought football back to KC.

Happy Birthday!

****ing loved Marty. Only 200 or more game winner to not be in the HOF and Andy winning the SB made Marty the all time winningiest coach to not win a SB and will probably hold that position for the rest of time. Its really sad he was never able to get over that post season hump, because if he would have won just 1 SB, then hes a 1st ballot HOF coach and thought of as one of the best coaches ever.

While he certainly didn't help himself out, I may ask God what the idea was behind Byner and McCree's fumble's, because that **** just felt like straight up divine intervention. While Marty did freeze up a bit in the playoffs, that type of fate was just cruel.
