Super Bowl winning QBs...

Sorry if repost...

26-of-46 Super Bowl winning teams had starting QBs taken in the first round of the draft (56%...56 ****ing percent). Of those, 22 were taken in the Top-10 picks, the area of the board where teams hope to find their franchise guys. And 33% of Super Bowl winning QBs are #1 overall picks. A total of 14 first round QBs have been named the Super Bowl MVP.

Dead horse isn't dead enough yet.

The supper bowl winner was a #1 over all.

So basically you are describing Alex Smith, correct?

RunKC 08-26-2013 06:13 PM

Wasn't Alex Smith a 1st round top 10 pick? :)

ThaVirus 08-26-2013 06:14 PM

This has definitely never been discussed here before.

No worries. It's only discussed every year when the Chiefs pass on the QB position in the draft.

Where's the jersey pic when you need one?

O.city 08-26-2013 06:18 PM

So we're playing the odds with a qb taken at 1.1?

Mojo Jojo 08-26-2013 06:22 PM

And how many won for the team that drafted them?

I think it's something like 51% of the SBs being won by HOF QBs, so no. And then you've got all the SB's from the last decade being won by future HOFer's besides probably Flacco.

Statistically we do have a shot with Alex Smith mainly due to his draft position. Its small and the chance to win more than one or even play in more than one is smaller.
