Let's talk about the Titans (AFC Championship edition) thread

The AFC Championship runs through Arrowhead.

Eleazar 01-12-2020 05:15 PM

DONT BE SCARED

TLO 01-12-2020 05:15 PM

Henry has to be getting tired, right? Certainly our run defense will be tested.

Getting out to an early lead would be huge. Try and neutralize the run game some.

MAG 01-12-2020 05:15 PM

I ****ing hate them.

I like Vrabel. I like watching Henry run. They're a pretty likeable team overall.

carcosa 01-12-2020 05:21 PM

Derrick Henry will run for 250 yards

Final score:
Chiefs 38
Titans 20

TLO 01-12-2020 05:23 PM

Play action scares me, but if we can force them to pass consistently, we'll destroy.

I hope the Titans get curbstomped.

pugsnotdrugs19 01-12-2020 05:24 PM

Mahomes isn’t letting these guys stop

Deberg_1990 01-12-2020 05:38 PM

Henry is an absolute tank. Got to score early and get a giant lead to keep him from being a factor. Make Tannehill throw a lot.

TribalElder 01-12-2020 05:38 PM

**** these patriot castoffs we need to extinguish their life force

Here we go. Thought we would get this matchup wild card wknd, but we get it now for all the marbles. Going to be a fun one. Dont underestimate the titans like the pats and ravens did. They are coming to play

The Chiefs would be fools to underestimate them. It won't happen.

JimNasium 01-12-2020 05:56 PM

They are awful against the pass. Go up early, mash the accelerator and put the game on Tannehill’s arm. We got this. Patrick’s will be done.

Stack the box and stop Henry.

If the Chiefs can score at will like they did in the 2nd quarter on, that will definitely force Tennessee to abandon the run, and put the game on Tannehill's arm.

Chris Meck 01-12-2020 06:00 PM

Since switching to Tannehill, The Titans have been an entirely different team.

Henry is a ****ing beast.

This will be a tough game. We will win, but it will be tough.

Drive the bus and quit paying attention to the road conditions.

Three7s 01-12-2020 06:02 PM

Henry will get his yards, no way around that. The Chiefs have to score early and keep the pressure on and force Tannehill to win it.

If they can somehow stop Henry, this will be a blowout. EVERYTHING the Titans do offensively runs through Henry.

Basileus777 01-12-2020 06:03 PM

For all the talk of the Titans offense, it's their defense that actually won them their two playoffs games. And that defense isn't built to stop a passing team like the Chiefs. They don't cover or pressure especially well.

Yes. They can stop the run but are terrible against the pass.

I don’t know how you can underestimate a team who’s already beaten you once this season. Tits will do what they’ve done all year, but will be desperate to keep the ball away from Mahomes. Heavy does of Henry to come, but that’s obvious. Really hoping Henry is getting worn down. His last three game stretch has been unreal and I’m really praying it is not sustainable.

FloridaMan88 01-12-2020 06:10 PM

Hopefully Chris Jones can play.

RaidersOftheCellar 01-12-2020 06:14 PM

We owned their defense before and will do it again. But more points this time. What their offense does is irrelevant. But I expect to contain them better this time.

38-17.

PHOG 01-12-2020 06:14 PM

Some NFLN radio guys were talking how when the Titans are playing form behind (by 1-7pts) they still run the ball as much or more than they normally do. Chiefs wold have to get way ahead to make them go pass heavy.

MMXcalibur 01-12-2020 06:18 PM

Please tell me Chris Jones will be back next week.

ThyKingdomCome15 01-12-2020 06:19 PM

Titans are a really tough team. This game will be a test of grit. Titans are built from the trenches out. But their D really isnt that great. I say Spags will be aggressive with the blitzes.

FLHomer 01-12-2020 06:42 PM

We can take them. Just need to have an answer for henry.

keg in kc 01-12-2020 06:44 PM

Chiefs may score 50 again. Their pass defense is that bad. And Mahomes is not Lamar. Stopping one thing just means he'll just kill you with two more. Someone is going to have a huge day next week. Maybe more than one.

And I don't really give a shit how many yards Henry gets. Just keep him from breaking the long ones. Tannehill doesn't have the weapons to be any kind of threat, and even if he did, he's still Tannehill. He's the knife Vrable's bringing to the proverbial gunfight.

Easy 6 01-12-2020 06:45 PM

If you say Henry and their ugly it up style isn’t worrisome, you’re just being a dick

What Henry has done the past 2 games is incredible... the D line absolutely has to slow him down by any means possible

An arm, a leg, a shove... a wing

Just body him up at every turn before he gains steam

Agreed. Henry will get his. But the Titans won't be able to keep up. Their strength is their run D. Their pass rush is more of a mush-rush than a consistent threat and their secondary is so-so.

The fact is the Ravens and Pats both played right into the Titans hands. Neither team could get vertical and neither team presented enough of a threat to force the Titans out of the run game.

The Chiefs do not play into their hands out.

The worry here is that Henry gets his, and Tits control the clock, limiting our opportunities to score and controlling the tempo of the game. They won’t have to worry about keeping up if they control the time of possession for 70% of the game.

That makes sense to me out.

Bl00dyBizkitz 01-12-2020 06:59 PM

Tannehill hasn't done much these last couple of weeks. If we sellout against the run, I'm not sold he can beat us with his arm.

If Mahomes can score, and score often, against the Titans D, we have a good shot at this one.

Deberg_1990 01-12-2020 07:01 PM

Vrabel will want to beat us for sure.

I don’t think he ever really liked KC and wasn’t happy when he was traded.

patteeu 01-12-2020 07:01 PM

I’m not sure about the sell out against the run strategy. That seems like it plays into the hands of a play action pass offense.

Doesn't matter. Texans had a favorable TOP by almost 10 minutes today. At one point they had a ridiculous number, like 15 minutes more than us. We all know how that worked out for them.

tk13 01-12-2020 07:05 PM

I agree that I think their pass defense can be had. I like the matchup against their defense. There is no doubt Henry is basically playing better than any RB in recent history though.

One other factor is this will be the Titans 4th consecutive road game in 4 weeks. With their running attack maybe that doesn't matter but hopefully we can wear their defense out.

BryanBusby 01-12-2020 07:05 PM

This is the game where Frank Clark will really start to shine.

ChiTown 01-12-2020 07:05 PM

Well nobody wanted him hear to begin with especially since he came with that loser Cassel.

duncan_idaho 01-12-2020 07:24 PM

Their pass defense isn’t as completely pathetic as the Texans, but it still is bottom half of the league.

KC should throw early and often. Today showed they don’t need to run a bunch or be balanced to cook on offense.

BWillie 01-12-2020 07:30 PM

Chiefs will give up 300 yds rushing and win by 14.

I get what you're saying, and it makes sense. However, if KC can be efficient with their RZ (TD's, not FG's), and make them count, the TOP won't matter much if they can get a few stops here and there.

petegz28 01-12-2020 07:35 PM

We had them beat until a miracle series of flukes aligned for them....

We are boat racing the Titans this game.

TomBarndtsTwin 01-12-2020 08:09 PM

Gonna be a tough game, but we should have this.

Obviously, Henry is a beast and will get his.

That said, their QB is Ryan Tannehill. Our QB is Patrick Mahomes.

Nothing else really needs to be said.

smithandrew051 01-12-2020 08:10 PM

Today was the most incredible football moment that I’ve ever seen live. I’m all in on this year. We can ****ing do it.

Frank Clark is an absolute monster. Not sure if you could see it on TV, but he was held almost constantly. He wrecked that OL.

Mahomes is just so good. I’m certain that this game was the best game of his pro career. He only missed on a few throws. If we didn’t drop it so offer early, Mahomes might have gone for 500 yards.

I’ve been wanting this rematch ****ing bad. Jackson couldn’t take advantage of their weak secondary....but this Mahomes with all these weapons....Mahomes is going to shred them (again).
