Not going to lie...That one looks more entertaining.

Hammock Parties 04-20-2015 12:10 PM

That's some reeruned shit...

ModSocks 04-20-2015 12:28 PM

My son has been waiting for this movie for over a year now. Little man pronounces Dinosaur names i didn't even know existed, and never shuts up about the experimental dinosaur in this movie..."Indominus Rex".

Buehler445 04-20-2015 12:34 PM

Yeah. That new trailer makes it look hokey. I'm sure I'll see it sometime, but it looks bad.

Fish 04-20-2015 12:51 PM

Gotta be better than the Karate Kid, Halloween, Little Orphan Annie, Footloose, Fri the 13th, ect remakes. If not someone needs to be shot.

ModSocks 04-20-2015 01:20 PM

Is it just me, or the dinosaurs look more fake than they did in the original?

ThaVirus 04-20-2015 02:04 PM

So how is the Indominus Rex going to get taken down?

T Rex from the original? Pack of trained raptors? A team up of the two? Death by Mosasaur?

I'm envisioning a downer of an ending where Indominus Rex isn't taken down, the park gets overrun, and they have to abandon it.

SETTING UP THE SEQUEL PERFECTLY o:-)

They already said "you don't have enough boats. Raptors take it down.

bowener 04-20-2015 03:14 PM

Well.... all hope is lost. This looks like a pile of shit now.

Just Passin' By 04-20-2015 03:20 PM

From the trailer, it looks as if they've turned the velociraptors into Pratt's pack of hunting dogs.

That's not a good start, IMO.

DaneMcCloud 04-20-2015 03:35 PM

The concept looks...well, rather odd.

There's a reason why JP3, which was the best IMO and nothing short of a remake of the original, was the last JP film in a decade. There just isn't a story to tell.

Unless the reviews are stellar, I'll wait until it's on the premium channels. Seeing a dinosaur eat a shark pretty much says it all for me.

That part will be cool but the second trailer, where it was just Howard and Pratt was painful to watch. Hopefully, the movie is better.

You idiots. Just shut up and enjoy dinosaurs doin' shit.

Hammock Parties 04-20-2015 10:42 PM

Do you have any idea how long the CGI artists worked to create these dinosaurs doin' shit.

It is well worth your $7.50.

007 04-20-2015 11:20 PM

I'll watch it just because it is dinosaurs. But I don't have high hopes for the story.

Buehler445 04-20-2015 11:25 PM

To be fair it probably won't be as dumb as the little girl doing gymnastics and defeating a raptor by kicking it in the face on the way by. I can't believe that shit hit the big screen.

Far more believable than a girl doing gymnastics as a fighting technique against a ****ing dinosaur.

I can turn my brain off during a movie and go with the flow. Sometimes, though, something so stupid or unlikely happens that it snaps me out of the flow of the movie and kind of ruins the movie for me. The "This is Unix. I know this." scene in JP is one of those. The acrobat scene is JP2 was pretty close but I didn't really care for JP2 so it wasn't as egregious to me.

Another example of this would be the bus jump scene in Speed.

I LOVED the first one and hated the second one so much that I just assumed the third would be even worse. Maybe I should go back and watch it.

I just watched the first one the other day on TV and it is still a good flick.

I got about half way through this trailer and shut it off because they were giving the whole damn movie away.

I am really starting to hate "trailers" and just enjoy "teasers" (like the new Star Wars teaser).

I.... because I started a lot of sentences with I.

DaneMcCloud 05-21-2015 06:20 PM

The feeling I get from the trailers and the storyline, which has been described in detail by the director, is that they're expecting people to buy into the spectacle of the film and not so much the story.

BigMeatballDave 05-21-2015 06:34 PM

I'll see this a few days after it opens. My son wants to see it in IMAX 3D.

I'm a huge JP mark so I can't wait to see this.....be interesting to see how they implement one part of the Indominus that the trailers haven't touched on yet....

If you're trying to sell JP and you're not doing it on spectacle you're doing it wrong.

People literally went to see 2 and 3 simply because they had dinosaurs.

BigMeatballDave 05-21-2015 07:25 PM

1 was great. 2 was a POS. 3 was okay.

Jerm 05-21-2015 07:35 PM

The Lost World made roughly 55% of Jurassic Park and JP3 earned about half of TLW. TLW was so bad that most of the original audience stayed away from JP3, which was a much better film.

If word gets out that JW is a bad film outside of the VFX, its box office returns will not meet expectation.

Anyway, back to JW: Apparently the ILM guys said this movie is going to do some impressive things in terms of dinosaurs in direct sunlight.

They always had to "hide" the CGI in rain and darkness before to make it look better.

Unfortunately, I own it on DVD because it was originally issued as a set.

It's just flat out unwatchable. The final 20 minutes are beyond ridiculous.

This movie will make insane money over the span of a month or so, but I just have the feeling that this flick is going to suck hard. This is going to be SFX porn and not much else.

I keep watching the trailers, but just don't feel "drawn" to JW at all.

One of my nephews just graduated from high school. We got into a conversation about the movies a week ago. He said he really liked TLW. I rolled my eyes and told him how the movie crapped on the book and how the whole dino in Cali thing wasn't in it, etc.

His reply, "There were books?" He then wanted them for graduation.

If the movie is as bad as the trailer that focused on Pratt and Howard's characters (which was utterly clumsy at best), I give it two weeks before it falls of a cliff. Those two had zero on screen chemistry. Pratt hooking up with the Raptors would have been more believable.

Hopefully, it's a much better film than we've seen in the clips.

jspchief 05-22-2015 01:09 PM

None of the previous ones did much for me, but the trailer in theater has me interested.

underEJ 05-22-2015 04:08 PM

Couldn't tell you if the story will suck or not, but the Dinosaur Supervisor from JP, who was not involved in the other two, is the Dinosaur Supervisor for the new one. He begrudgingly uses computers, and fully understands their limitations.

Eh, I wanna watch this on IMAX 3D with my son. I'm watching for the action and CGI. Basically, the same reasons I go see Transformer, Avengers, and Ironman movies.
