Ward I believe had to move back a bit as Edelman got closer to his other receiver, to make sure he wouldn't be impeded by the other Pats WR like what happened.

But the alignment of the two safeties is just inexcusable and that's 100% on Sutton.

I don't know how you guys can watch that and come away blaming Nelson.

Dafuq?

That was CLEARLY on Fuller. When the receiver comes across like that the DB's are suppose to switch. There was no way Nelson could've switched his positioning to cover Edleman after that motion.

Fuller was suppose to switch to cover Edelman. Fuller ****ed that up.

Same way he and Scandrick ****ed it up during the Chargers game.

6', 210lbs vs 6-6" 265lbs on a jump ball. In ANY sport that's called a mismatch. Football, basketball, Boxing, MMA. It's a ****ing mismatch.

Quit being ****ing reeruned.

Jesus, sometimes i forget how stupid this place can be when analyzing players and games.

So you think the DB's were supposed to cross? I doubt it.

Scratch that-you are correct. I thought that was Nelson inside. it was Fuller that ****ed up.

No, the DB's weren't suppose to cross. That's the ENTIRE reason why Nelson played this coverage correctly and FULLER blew it.

When Edelman crossed in motion and released inside, Fuller was suppose to pick him up.

There was no way Nelson could've picked Edelman up. Fuller had position there to defend that had he actually covered the right guy.

So depressing

Quote:

If you notice on both 3rd down stack plays, they kept Gronk and White in to chip block the edge rushers. But KC had man coverage on them, so keeping both of those guys in also took two coverage guys out of the play. So not only did Gronk and White chip block rushers, they drew two more guys out of the play for a total of 4 KC players taken right out of the play by two NE offensive players.

Yep. You're right. I thought that Nelson was inside, it was Fuller.

This is disturbing on so many levels. This is shit that you learn in pee wee and the exact same mistake cost us our 2 biggest games of the season (Chargers and Patriots). In both scenarios all you have to do is make one stop. ONE STOP and you win the game. In both cases our defensive backs had absolutely no clue what to do on the play. How does this happen?

A whole other matter is the 2 deep safeties. Everybody in the entire stadium knew that Brady was going to Edelman or Gronk. Brady has a fairly weak arm at this point in his career. Force him to beat you deep. Don't just give him an easy first down. Plus if you force him deep then you give the pass rush more time to get home.

Unbelievable and unforgivable mistakes in the biggest game in the history of the franchise. Thank god Sutton is gone now, but if it had been done a year ago we might be gearing up for the Super Bowl right now.

It looks like the motion confused Fuller, which is what it was designed to do, I'm sure. They're in man, and the outside guy motions inside, but just barely inside the slot receiver. So Fuller thinks they're still on the original man, and Nelson takes the now outside reciever which WAS the slot guy-originally Fullers guy.

Anyway, he out-thought himself. Dumb.

Not here to break balls. It was a great game to watch.back and forth the whole way. Just wanted to say I enjoyed sparring with you guys last week. Lot of fun

Let me tell you, the Rams forum is the lamest I've ever seen. It's almost comical.

It seems to be a recurring pattern here with Fuller.

Same thing happened against SD, 'cept it looked like Scandrick ****ed that up.

Either way, there's a lack of communication coming from the slot. This should not be happen.

This is stuff us non-pros figure out playing backyard football.
