Having a few dark and stormys at the hotel bar.

Iced tea. Great pool dive with the kid, and not yet in the mood for martini, rum, or merlot.

Then Makers Mark. Even better.

I homebrewed a Mexican lager that I want to put into these 7oz Little Kings bottles to give off a Coronita/Dos Equis vibe, but DAYUM!, I'm stuck drinking them. Figure if I can choke down a couple here and there by the time my beer gets done lagering I'll have all the bottles I need.

I'm not a gin fan but I've gotten some free grapefruits from work and needed a drink for them.

Called a Palm Beach
2 oz gin
1 oz vermouth
2-3 ounces grapefruit juice

No wonder you're not a gin fan, you're drinking Beefeater. :) :D

I kid, I kid. I am a gin fan, and that drink sounds good. I think I have to wait for warmer weather, otherwise my palate won't accept those flavors.

So, was the Palm Beach good? I've got some Gin I have to either drink or toss and so far I've been leaning towards toss.

Don't take this personally, but **** you. :cuss: 28 with a wind chill of 19 right now.

I know a lot of people don't like gin, but at least some of those have only had the common gins that are very juniper forward. Juniper seems to be one of those love it or hate it flavors. I would recommend trying a few different ones to see if they might be more to your liking.

http://www.goudals.com/wp-content/up...cks-gin-1l.jpg

Hendrick's is heavy on cucumber and rose. Very light and refreshing and pretty far from your stereotypical gin flavor profile.

https://www.thebotanist.com/sites/de.../product_1.jpg

The Botanist is my favorite gin and I will actually have it on the rocks. It is made by Bruichladdich, an Islay distillery that makes some truly excellent single malts. They use only 22 botanicals found on Islay.

http://intoxicology.net/wp-content/u...luecoatgin.jpg

Bluecoat is made not far from me, in Philly. I'd say this has more of a citrus note than most gins.

Those would be my top 3 recommendations, but there are a lot of gins out there these days.

Indian Chief 02-16-2017 11:30 PM

Combined two of my favorite drinks today. Not sure it's a real drink but it was quite good. Combination of a Manhattan and a whiskey sour. 2 oz rye whiskey, 1 oz sweet vermouth, dash of orange bitters and juice from 1 medium lemon. Quite tart, which I prefer, but could add some simple syrup for others.

We also just finished redoing the table this drink sits on. Solid oak table but was blonde in color, very light wood. We sanded and refinished to a dark table. Props to Mrs. Lewdog for most of the work on the table.

Yesterday was my launch date as I need a few days here in Scottsdale to get situated and get in a few last meals of gluttony and alcohol as a send off. :D

No bread, cereal, bagels, coffee, alcohol, pizza, ice cream or desserts or anything else that is gut busting for 6 months.

Hit the EOS gym for 2 1/2 hours; 5 miles on elliptical in 60 minutes, stretching next for 15 minutes, light free weight lifting and machines for 45 minutes, more stretching, walking on treadmill for 30 minutes on slight incline and only 2.5 mph, then more stretching, then about 10 minutes of curved curling bar exercises then stretching on ball and heavy ball then shower.

It felt great! I'm stocked that I am going to lose 100 pounds by Oct-Nov

Yeah. I used to drink bud light for my general fix. Then I started drinking with my FIL and all he stocks is Busch light. $16 for a thirty pack and it actually has a hint of flavor. I agree with you. I'm a convert.

It's a handwritten label that tells you the approximate warehouse location and rack number. Helps you try to find something similar if you liked the taste of that specific barrel.

Make sure you do it right and don't just sit there. Make sure you expose as much of you hamstrings, calves, lower back, and the rest of your back to the surfaces.

And drink, drink, drink, water. wipe away the sweat and let the pours empty of all the oils 'n shit stuck in them.

And don't be ANG (Awkward Naked Guy)!!! :thumb: We had one of those dudes, and we finally had to tell him we're not in a Roman bath house circa 350 AD! ROFL

Drank tons of water and Powerade Zero, did the sauna with stretching the calves. Those are causing me pain, especially the left one.

For dinner tonight and two nights ago: Denny's Fit Fare Veggie Skillet without the egg whites, as I HATE eggs.
