32 Kenneth Murray, LB Oklahoma

63 Jaylon Johnson, CB Utah

96 Zack Moss, RB Utah

128 Chase Claypool, WR Notre Dame

159 Khalil Davis, IDL Nebraska

I was happy with the outcome.

If the board fell the way it did for me I think I would've traded back as there was a lot of interesting offensive picks on the board for me.

32) Trevon Diggs, CB Alabama
63) JK Dobbins, RB Ohio State
96) Tyler Biadasz, OG Wisconsin
128) Devin Duvernay, WR Texas
159) Albert O, TE Missouri

Uh yeah if this happens we're winning the super bowl the next 3 years lol.

Claypool has been pimped by The Franchise and the kid backed it up today, the others have been mentioned and I won't homer this up too much. Khalil Davis is a nice replacement if you can't re-sign Pennel. Khalil physically and athletically is freakish he doesn't always play up to it but as a rotational guy? He's solid.

I did a few of these and yea I think the Chiefs would be best served to trade down...tons of talent out there.

Our best bet is a team like the Colts who like one of the other QBs or a team that wants that 5th year option on a player.

Although I will say this, the way some of it played out is completely ridiculous.

Jordan Love and Jake Fromm are not going in the second round. I'd be stunned if Burrow, Tua, Love and Herbert weren't all gone by 7.

Direckshun 02-28-2020 12:15 PM

Love is going to be a surprise drop, in my opinion.

Agree. My thoughts are he's lucky if a team trades up from the top of the 2nd to get him in the very late 1st. Otherwise, I can't see him going in 1.

And Jake Fromm isn't a 1st round guy either, IMO.

Right? hmmm.....
Bordeline skill sets do.

Drew Lock was widely considered to be a 1st rounder and fell to 2-42.
Deshone Kiser was getting 1st round consideration by some and fell to 2-52
Paxton Lynch was a surefire top 10 pick... until he fell to 1-26.
Geno Smith... first rounder, no doubt right? Until he fell to 2-39.

First go at the draft simulator

1st : CB Jeff Gladney (TCU)
2nd : WR Brandon Aiyuk (Arizona State)
3rd : TE Harrison Bryant (Florida Atlantic)
4th : C Nick Harris (Washington)
5th : RB Zack Moss (Utah)

staylor26 02-28-2020 09:19 PM

4 QB’s aren’t going in the top 7.

The Franchise 02-29-2020 01:13 PM

32 Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU
63 Jaylon Johnson, CB, Utah
96 Akeem Davis-Gaither, LB, App State
128 Anthony McFarland, RB, Maryland
159 Chase Claypool, WR, Notre Dame

Keep in mind that Claypool would probably move to TE.

Couch-Potato 02-29-2020 08:46 PM

I like seeing Moss and Claypool in the 5th, either would be a great pick up that late.

The tape is great though. If he falls to our 2nd and we go somewhere other than corner in the 1st, it’s a blessing.

He was only guy that could stop Chase. He’s legit.

He’s a Breeland type and would be a good fit. I like his aggression and ability to run with receivers off of press. I do worry about his weight though...

Whatever I did seems unrealistic but I would take it and run:

1) Deandre Swift RB
2) Noah Igbinoghene CB
3) Bryce Hall CB
4) Ben Bartch OL
5) Thaddeus Moss TE

I know it ignores a couple positions of need--But value where I picked basically forced me to take 2 CBs. Guess we will find our LB elsewhere!

Actually hadn’t seen that so thanks for the heads up, but I still doubt Noah is there in round 2, let alone Bryce Hall in 3. Either way, I think swift would be a dynamite hit for our offense, and landing these 2 corners would give us some cheap stability there for a few years.

ive had two come down to dantzler or aiyuk at the end of the third.. the longer i play the more i feel we need to trade down and trade cj for picks this year. this has created a monster.

JohnnyHammersticks 04-01-2020 05:29 PM

Great. A different draft simulator for me to spend hours and hours on. Just what I needed....

I think I've come up with every conceivable combination of players possible for us on the Fanspeak one. Time to kick the tires on this one.

JohnnyHammersticks 04-01-2020 05:43 PM

Here's what I came up with. Robertson over Darnay Holmes because Veach doesn't seem too fond of CBs who aren't into tackling.

I would rather not have a RB in the 2cd. We have bigger needs.

Does anyone have the paid-for version that includes trades?

All these draft sites have RB as a major need for the Chiefs. I can’t see them drafting a RB until the 3rd round.

Kellerfox 04-05-2020 05:17 PM

I’m fine with taking a RB in rounds 1/2/3 (not what I would personally do) - but my general observation from running different simulators is that we aren’t getting a CB that will fall into our depth charts top 3 after the second round. CB has to be our first or second pick, and taking a RB early forces our hand and we might not end up with a true BPA draft there after.

We have other needs more important than RB, but CB is the only one that will kill our season if we don’t address IMO.

ArrowheadMagic 04-05-2020 09:36 PM

If Swift, Dobbins, or Edwards-Helaire are there in the 2nd round.. you absolutely take them. Of course, resigning Breeland makes this an easier pick.. but you add elite talent at running back and gets the offense back to 40 pts a game. Assuming we didnt trade Jones.

ArrowheadMagic 04-05-2020 09:37 PM

Now.. i also think Evans..Ap state.. and McFarland could be effective in this offense.

I just chose the best player available at each slot and didn’t worry about the position, although I’d be down if the Chiefs re-sign Breeland to modest 2-3 year deal.

In a season with very little prep time available, the more players with experience in this system, the better.

I would take that draft but would sure like a solid LB in the first. That's cool that you were able to do the trades. I would love to flirt with that but I'm too stingy to pay for premium.

rockymountainchief 04-10-2020 09:57 AM

Sorry if it's a repost, but PFF removed the paywall from their mock sim. It's awesome. You can set up some initial assumptions for how it works and it gives you the ability to trade up or down throughout.

I like dicking around w/ PFF's mock draft simulator because you can do trades a little easier.

So I just went haywire for giggles:

55: Swift, RB
63: Chinn, S/LB
78: Jonah Jackson, G
79: Willie Gay Jr, LB
96: Troy Pride Jr, CB
119: Kenny Willekes - DE
148: Antonio Gibson, WR
152: Solomon Kindley, G
177: Harrison Bryant, TE

I also got the Jets 2021 1st rounder w/ my first round trade down.

In other words - complete lunacy. But how fun would that draft be? A couple new IOLs, a new RB, a couple new LBs (inside/out), a rotational edge rusher, a backup TE, a gadget WR/RB, a solid CB prospect and an extremely valuable 1st rounder from the Jets.

That draft would be legendary....good or bad.

I didn't go heywire but traded down from 2nd to 3rd and picked up a 4th and 7th

32 KC Yetur Gross-Matos ED Penn State
78 KC Akeem Davis-Gaither LB Appalachian State
96 KC Raekwon Davis DI Alabama
119 KC Antonio Gibson RB Memphis
138 KC Reggie Robinson II CB Tulsa
177 KC Saahdiq Charles T LSU
228 KC Quez Watkins WR Southern Miss

I can't fathom Davis-Gaither being there. I have him at 63 but question whether he'll actually require a move up in 2.
I have Raekwon Davis as a Rd 1 guy...
I have Watkins as Rd 4

Used PFF 50/50 rating with teams drafting a little for need, Caring about positional value and Random

I don't think he's a bad fit, I just think he may not be a good player.

He can add some weight and play at 275 in all likelihood. He has the length and probably the functional strength to play a 4-3 DE. But if he develops as you'd expect he profiles more as a LEO than an SDE.

He's a rich man's K-Pass. He has a longer development curve and a lot more bust potential. I wouldn't say fit is the issue - he can play here. But he'd need to change his body a bit and really change his mentality. You draft him in the 1st and you do so recognizing that year 1 is likely a red-shirt year. It wouldn't be the end of the world because we still have Okafor and K-Pass to rotate at SDE in 2020.

But there's a lot of bust potential there.

The guy I really hope someone falls in love with is Chaisson. That's a love-fest I just don't get. If he falls to 32 you almost have to take him because there's a lot of tools there but man I don't have to squint much at all to see Dee Ford 2.0 - a long, frustrating development process that shows flashes but just never works out quite like you'd hope. There's just a ton of 'implosion' potential there.

On the spectrum of 'solid w/ a high floor' to 'high variance and explosive w/ bust potential' you have Epenesa -- Gross-Matos -- Chaisson from one end to the other.

Chaisson is from LSU with really good workout numbers in a year that edge rusher isn't exactly popping, he'll probably go in the first 20 picks.
