Week 3: Let's talk about the Ravens

Chiefs open as 6 point favorites. Let's discuss below.

pugsnotdrugs19 09-15-2019 05:27 PM

Going to be a brawl but I like our chances in the home opener.

tx4chiefs 09-15-2019 05:29 PM

I think we may be in trouble, but am hoping for an outstanding performance by the Chiefs.

Hammock Parties 09-15-2019 05:30 PM

We have a Mahomes

TLO 09-15-2019 05:31 PM

I guess we'll see what kind of game Lamar Jackson can put together. Is he actually turning into a good QB?

Arrowhead should be rocking like it's the 90's on Sunday.

Three7s 09-15-2019 05:31 PM

Can't start slow against the Ravens like they did against the Raiders. If they're clicking on all cylinders like they did in the 2nd Q, should still pull this out.

Deberg_1990 09-15-2019 05:37 PM

It’s time to discuss the Ravens

Lamar Jackson is no joke!

Hammock Parties 09-15-2019 05:39 PM

Darron Lee or Honey Badger have to make their money in this game. Jackson has to be spied. He had 100 yards rushing today.

Rasputin 09-15-2019 05:39 PM

We got this but have to win four quarters

Special teams is going be a key factor we got to get our special teams to do something.

Ravens have played 2 garbage teams. Should beat them at home, after 2 on the road. Prob be closer than the last 2 though.

tk13 09-15-2019 05:42 PM

We're going to find out how good our run defense really is, that's for sure.

This is going to be a tough game. Hopefully Mahomes does not take a ton of big hits. Ravens defense is extremely physical.

pugsnotdrugs19 09-15-2019 05:46 PM

Baltimore almost lost to ARZ today at home... I think they’re a playoff team but not a lock by any means.

Run game was fine last week against a great D. Not this week. Not concerned.

keg in kc 09-15-2019 05:54 PM

Not really any more worried about Baltimore than anybody else we play. Their defense looks like another potential victim, and I'm not sold that they're any better than the Lions on offense at this point.

Reality is that we're going to get everybody's best shot every week.

pugsnotdrugs19 09-15-2019 05:55 PM

Damien AND McCoy came out of this one banged up. Yay.

DrRyan 09-15-2019 05:55 PM

Make Jackson beat you with his arm and take away the TE safety blanket and it should be a win. That TE has been a beast their first two games.

They didn't look great. Against AZ

ShowtimeSBMVP 09-15-2019 06:05 PM

Are people really scared of ravens? Week 1 beat a awful Fins team
Week 2 needed all 60 minutes to beat a awful cardinals team

RunKC 09-15-2019 06:06 PM

Kyler Murray dropped 350 passing yards on them in his 2nd start today.

Imagine what Pat will do

Not really - Oakland was keying on the run/short passing game and dared us to beat them deep. Mahomes obliged.

While it won't be easy against the BAL line, I see Shady and Thompson having better luck in the run game - more lanes will be open, as I predict Baltimore will play less man coverage than Oakland and go with more 3 deep and soft zones to negate the big play potential of Mahomes, much like they did last year.

WAY more worried about our defense vs their offense.

DRM08 09-15-2019 06:10 PM

NBC needs to switch to this game instead of the Rams/Browns.

Tonka83 09-15-2019 06:16 PM

Was more worried about the Faid. Not concerned about Baltimore at all.

TwistedChief 09-15-2019 06:23 PM

I watched a lot of their game against Arizona today. Their defense didn't look nearly as tight and disciplined as it did last year. Murray played a good game but Mahomes can make every throw in just the same way.

pugsnotdrugs19 09-15-2019 06:59 PM

I’m low key feeling a beat down coming.

Chiefs have a good chance to run away with this one. Home opener is bound to be a bitch for anyone come week 3.

That's my thinking as well. Baltimore has faced teams that likely will be picking first and second in the 2020 draft. I am not going to believe that Jackson is a real quarterback until he can beat a good team. And I don't see that happening week 3 at Arrowhead.

pugsnotdrugs19 09-15-2019 07:31 PM

Seriously, Baltimore lost a lot of dudes from that defense last year. Like as many as us, except their defense was actually good.

I can see KC hanging 35 for sure.

petegz28 09-15-2019 07:31 PM

They are 2-0 against the Dolphins and the Cards. And the Cards hung with them in Baltimore rather well.

St. Patty's Fire 09-15-2019 07:33 PM

Easily our biggest challenge so far. Love that this game is at home, gives us the edge.

This is such a great matchup. I think it’ll be just as amazing a game as it was last season. Definitely interested in seeing that Ravens defense up against Mahomes again.

Three7s 09-15-2019 07:34 PM

Most Baltimore fans are blaming the poor defensive performance on getting beat when blitzing and injuries, most notably to Jimmy Smith.

Baltimore is a strong team defensively from an organizational stand point. They always are. They draft and develop guys that fit into their system. As long as Harbaugh is there their defense will be a handful.

I’m confident we’ll win but **** man, the Raiders gave our o line some problems today. The Ravens are a lot scarier than ****ing Oakland.

smithandrew051 09-15-2019 07:37 PM

Here’s a stat.

Lamar Jackson already has over 160 rushing attempts.

Damien Williams barely has over 200.

If the Ravens are serious about Jackson being a long term solution at QB, they need to quit having him run the ball so much. I get that he’s a dynamic weapon, but that will expose him to an injury prone career.

What QB has proven to be a consistent rushing threat (on designed runs) without having a career full of injuries?

I don’t think they have much of a choice. If he’s not running the ball, he’s not a good QB. It’s his best attribute that sets him apart.

He won’t be able to play for long probably, but it’s the only way you get great QB play from that guy.

TLO 09-15-2019 07:45 PM

Oh shit I just realized... We released Tremon Smith.

Tremon Smith played Lamar Jackson as we prepped for the Ravens last year.

WE'RE DOOOOOOOOMED.

He hasn’t even been the best DE we acquired this offseason. Emmanuel Ogbah has looked like a goddamn steal so far and I hope we can keep that mother****er somehow.

He almost had another sack today and has been very good in run defense

Yeah, we saw it. And in the long history of the NFL, that style of offense gas never worked for long. It works for a while. People get excited, then defenses get some tape on it and shut it down. Jackson is just another flash in the pan. You would think that Harbaugh would have learned from his brother that quarterbacks like Kansuckadick and Jackson are nothing more than fools gold.

Kinda have that feeling too.

Anxious to see what the D can do at home in front of a hyped crowd.

Even last year’s Swiss cheese D was fairly good at home.

Mahomes_Is_God 09-15-2019 10:22 PM

They suck, 33-10 Chiefs. NEXT!

Direckshun 09-15-2019 10:31 PM

This is going to be an extremely difficult game, do not fool yourself.

The Ravens still have a very good run game and Lamar Jackson has developed as a passer.

The Ravens run defense is still the best in the league, so we will be one-dimensional, which sucks when they already have a lot of sacks and Cam Erving at LT.

We're going to still need Mahomes to be every bit the Cheat Code he's been so far, and the defense will have to find a way to cover downfield and slowdown the run before we're decimated by it.

Imon Yourside 09-15-2019 10:36 PM

I'm not worried, we have Mahomes and our defense is starting to gel.

FloridaMan88 09-15-2019 10:59 PM

Baltimore's defense is worse than it was when the Chiefs played them last year.

They lost a lot this offseason and their secondary is currently banged up.

Kyler Murray is legit. They nearly knocked off a Detroit team that beat the Chargers yesterday.

The big issue I see in this one will be keeping pace with Marquise Brown. That could be a real issue.

chiefzilla1501 09-15-2019 11:34 PM

I would bet mahomes has been studying cover 0 in the offseason til he was blue in the face. Baltimore will still show some creative looks but id expect mahomes to be much better than last year.

New World Order 09-15-2019 11:50 PM

31-20 Chiefs

Imon Yourside 09-16-2019 12:23 AM

42-17 Chiefs

Mahomes puts up 5 scores in the 2nd quarter and The Ravens scramble to try and regain their sanity and can be seen on their sideline asking each other to pinch them to make sure they aren't dreaming.

CupidStunt 09-16-2019 02:16 AM

We'll miss Reek in this game. Let's not pretend or ignore what he does for us.

Game of the year so far.

Jaydee414 09-16-2019 07:49 AM

Greetings.

Looking forward to Sunday’s game.

Contrary to a previous post, we Ravens fans are not “terrified” of playing the Chiefs. What we ARE is realistic enough to see both sides of the coin, and recognize that Mahomes is an extraordinary talent who will, most likely, burn the Ravens D on more than one occasion. We are not overly impressed with the KC running game, and T.Hill being out is a W for Baltimore.
Kelce & Watkins and a developing Robinson and Hardman mitigate Hill’s absence to a point, but he will certainly be missed.

There seems to be a dismissive, uninformed thought process on this board regarding Lamar Jackson. Understand that this is NOT the same player y’all saw last year. True, games against MIA & AZ may not be the test that KC will be, but I ask you: do you believe that a) KC has the D to shut down Jackson’s running? And b) if that is the chosen route, do you really believe the KC D can control M. Andrews and M. Brown?

Dude you played shit teams. Needed 60 minutes to beat a god awful cardinals team. Remember the ravens have played the teams picking 1 and 2 in next years draft. Murray lit you up 35 year old WR running wide open vs your D. If you think you guys are legit so be it gonna be a rude awakening come sunday

IF you are at the home opener and you leave with a voice...go back to the empty stadium and yell some more...crap, I yell so loud at the damn tv that my wife says they might hear me at arrowhead...and I'm in West Virginia!
