Scouting is getting an overhaul too, to be updated in a live service update in September.

Sim stats still arent fixed
Trade logic is still not up to par
Most of the animations are the same
Runs and looks smooth (Series X)
Aggressive catch still busted
Blocking still atrocious

I can't believe you're pushing 40 and still buy a new copy of Madden every year.

You're gonna have a majority of jaded previous players skeptical of EA's ability to turn the ship around and that is definitely fair but I appreciate that there at least appears to be an effort in regards to revitalizing Madden's Franchise mode.

I'm not sure if I'll be buying Madden, just switched to PC and I really only enjoy playing an online franchise if there are 26+ dedicated owners but this looks to be a step in the right direction.

I'm really hoping the franchise mode is up to par; or at least, progress has been made.

Last Madden I bought new in the last 6 years or so was the one with Mahomes on it. It was fun, but wore out quickly. Think I shelved it by around beginning of October.

Pretty excited to see how this one fairs once reviews start coming out. The fact they even touched franchise mode is exciting.

Yeah, in QB1 mode we got like 1 season of "story" and it just stopped. Plus the story we did get felt so disjointed and forced.

New upgrades sound good in theory but I'll wait until it comes out and reviews start dropping to make a decision on buying.

Not gonna lie, the new coaching staff and scouting upgrades look tremendous.

They got my $60 if gameplay isn't broken.

dang; it's been a long while since I messed around with Franchise mode, but that stuff looks pretty interesting.

I'm looking forward to it. I haven't bought a Madden game in 3 years and it, on PC, is apparently natively compatible with my 3440x1440 resolution.

Just FYI, the PC version of Madden isn't running the next gen updates.

I'm pretty sure we get all the franchise updates.

Scouting in Franchise
One of the most highly-requested features for Franchise was a more robust scouting feature when searching for your future star player. Since Scouting is a significant structural overhaul and fundamental piece of the Franchise experience, there will be a Live Service update targeted for September. This will require players to restart their Franchise in Madden NFL 22 after downloading the Title Update.

the talent tree stuff sounds super interesting

when you get to the end of the talent tree you almost have x-factor like abilities for your coaches

And the fatigue carries over from game to game. And playing on a short week, or on the road, actually matters now.

I just wish they would fix how the game feels. whenever I play the CPU and get tackled, it's an instant, hit-stick level /highlight level hit every single time; and I get stopped in my tracks. and get sucked into tackles it seems when I'm anywhere close to someone. getting stoned by a 190lb CB while playing as a 250+ TE is annoying.

is stuff like that caused by the game 'engine' (or whatever it's called)? past football games from memory about 10 years ago didn't feel this way.

I'm hoping it's a great game. I'm a franchise player and don't play on line; and very very very rarely venture into MUT (but never spend real money on it)...I'd love for this game to be really good ; I've been in a football gaming desert for a few years.

Kind of bummed dynamic gameplay isn't going to be on PC.

Yeah if I was making those abilities up, the first thing I would've thought for Arrowhead is increased chance for false start for opposing offenses.

If you plan on playing a lot of Madden, you may as well get a PS5 or Series X.

Wow, didn't know most of the franchise update stuff seems to be ripped out of the NHL franchise.

I almost am in the mood to do a little MUT, it's been a few years and I do enjoy the process of building a badass Chiefs theme team. But, they are charging $100 for the 3 day early access which is kind of important if you are doing MUT so **** that. It's too p2w anyways, I'm glad they deterred me with that insane price.

As much as I want a new Madden, especially on PC, to play... I'm gonna have to pass on buying this.

PC version gets no new next gen features anyway.

Think Ill hold off another year.

LMAO There's no way EA actually test plays these games. Franchise mode is literally unplayable at launch because of a bug that resets your stats and score to 0 after playing a game. You could win a game 49-7 with 7 TDs thrown and after the game it shows you lost 7-0 with nothing done.

Yep. They don't give a damn about the game now. They can put out the same bullshit every year and there's millions of idiots buying up packs in MUT anyway. Madden died when MUT became a thing. It's been over for years now. They try to get the hopeful franchise people back with empty promises but most of them realize now it'll never change.

They added a ton of stuff to franchise mode this year, actually.

But who knows if it will work...I mean resetting the scores of franchise games to 0 is devastatingly awful programming.

Only having the best features available on next-gen platforms is a whip in the ass, too.
