So sorry to hear. A lot of us have been there.

Whatever issues you may have in the relationship, her cheating is not your fault. This is something she did, a choice she made. You're the victim here. Don't look for reasons to feel guilty or for things you could have done to prevent it. There aren't any.

Just a personal opinion here, but this is something where there's no second chance. You need to move on. It's tough but the only real option long-term. Trust has been broken, and most likely more than the one time you know about.

As much rancor as he may (justifiably) feel, you can't take a mother away from her child - I'm sure the child has bonded with her mother, as well.

I also read that beach tribe has a son, so he has at least one other child's needs to consider as well.

It's a heavy load, and I wish him the best.

Living well is the best revenge.

The kids continue to get all the love they deserve and more, but she goes to the curb.

You get a reset button, start things again, do everything great like someone who is on the way up would do. Get a new place, hit the gym, eventually meet someone new and better, etc etc

She can enjoy life struggling with her douchebag ex and wondering why she screwed up something good by being a whore.

Fact.

I had a long term girlfriend in college that cheated and ran off. Got knocked up a month or so later, was married in 3 months and getting beaten and divorced in a year. Somehow through a friend of a friend of a friend a pic of her popped up on my feed last week.....she looks like grimace now. My wife is hot...and faithful.

She will prolly cheat on him too, and he'll deserve it.

Sorry to hear about this beach.....a lot of good advice on here and some really stupid advice. You can sort that out on your own.

A couple of things that have appeared here and are sage advice.....

1) Get an Attorney and a good Counselor.....with your Special Needs child that you both are parents of, you will need some legal advice the matters of custody and some counseling on how to handle explaining the split to your child(ren). It's just not simple even when your child isn't Special Needs.....throwing in the world of an autistic child (high or low functioning) makes it a whole different story.

2) Get tested.....even if you don't believe you need to. Without guessing how many times they may have met that you might not be aware of, there is always the specter of how many partners (good or bad) that he has had outside of her.

I don't know if you followed my original thread years ago but as bad as it hurts please believe me it does get better. I went through a horrible depression, let her play with me because I loved her so much and was convinced that losing her would also mean losing my kids somehow.

But here I am almost 7 years later with full custody and only having to be away from my kids for 75% of their summer vacation. I'm not going to lie and say it was easy but once I finally got my head together and stopped believing we could work it out I was much better off.

And the icing on the cake was finding out that the guy she left me for did the same thing to her, and the next guy she married she's cheated on him with at least three people including both of their next-door neighbors. Once a cheater, always a cheater and be glad you only have one child together instead of three.

Gotta love that 4th Amendment.

Good for you. But most of all, good for your kid.

Luckily, I was able to make nice with my ex (really the best solution, but sometimes not possible). I'll never forget that she screwed me over, but I forgive her. I tried to hire a good attorney but things get complicated when 3 states are involved...luckily, things worked out the way they're supposed to work out. Now, my ex-wife and my girlfriend are good friends...which is odd, but we all have the same focus - the child that we all have in common. I don't want to list the specifics, but my ex now knows exactly what I'm capable of, and that I will enforce my rights if necessary.

Sounds like things worked out the way they were supposed to for you, as well. Sounds like your child wasn't your ex's primary focus.

You should get every other weekend and alternate major holidays.

LiveSteam 02-14-2016 05:05 PM

My advise. Don't feel sorry for yourself. Get pissed off, hit the gym. If you have friends in the fight game, go spar with them. It feels good to take some hard shots when you're that full of rage & pain. Feels good to give out some shots to.
I tried the feeling sorry for myself once back in 96.
Bad bad deal. Even Bugs couldn't stand to be around me back then.

Boiled Chicken 02-14-2016 05:12 PM

Sorry to read this, and there's a lot of great advice. Not your fault in any way...and this includes the predictable, 'why didn't you try and fight for me to stay'. The cheaters can never accept that they caused this. The best advice I got was when I considered taking my ex back and my brother asked me if I liked how I was feeling now. I said no, and he told me don't take her back, because you will feel like this again.

And don't listen to the 'it will get better' crowd. The truth is, it will, but that shit doesn't help, now.

When the sting wears off, enjoy your whoring period. Questionable or not, it is magnificent, even if some of the ass is questionable.

Hitting a strip club is #2. IMO.

Though they can be great counselors for a song or two.

58-4ever 02-14-2016 07:42 PM

My suggestion: Try and deal with this in a healthy way. I've seen friends go down the drinking and drugs path after situations like these. Have a few of those nights, then workout, pray, and take yourself out of it as much as possible. Keep loving yourself, as this has little to do with you and more to do with her personal demons.

I'm actually going to suggest something that I haven't seen mentioned.

Forgive her

I'm not saying that you guys don't need some counseling, and serious relationship repair, but I know of many couples where the adultery didn't result in divorce. I know that it takes two to tango, but If you really do love her, and your children, then stay and deal with it. Forgiveness isn't about her...it's about you.

And honestly, take a few minutes and think about how powerful the testimony will be on the other side of this. To your future children. To your family. To your friends.

If God forgives us, we can forgive each other.

Agreed, marriages are repaired and saved all of the time

As you say... both sides need to be on board, but it happens frequently

I definitely do not agree with "once a cheater, always a cheater"... my ex and I both cheated on each other, and if I am ever lucky enough to find the right girl again, I'll chop off my junk before risking our love for some cheap, fleeting sex

Hey guys.

Just checking in.

I am surprised at myself for remembering how strong and resilient I am.
Still not ready to talk too much about, though.
Distractions and reminders aren't helpful right now.

Haven't read the whole thread but I will.

This place gets nasty sometimes but it's also jammed packed with good people who aren't afraid to voice their true opinions.

What I have read has really helped.

Sincerely,

thank you.

Keep up the good work, hate that shit happened to you especially with a child involved. What a dumb slore she is.

I could never do this. If the woman I love did this to me I'd leave her and never talk to her again.
I would lose all trust.

I disagree, Virus... sometimes love IS worth fighting for

Dont know if thats true in BT's case, but people successfully move on from infidelity all of the time

Dang BT, sorry to hear it.

I've been cheated on and done some cheating. Doing the cheating always feels worse. Can't imagine the emotions of sharing a kid with someone through that. Take it one moment at a time and you'll get through it.

Some of you know that Lumpy and I divorced a few years ago and we have an autistic son together.

Now then, the last thing he needs is people calling her names and telling him to dump her etc.
This is a decision that he needs to make on his own. He's got to take so much into account here.
What happens to his daughter, his income, property etc.
Will the divorce be nasty or not, can they reconcile? Lawyers are expensive.

The biggest mistake she and I made was not trying hard enough. We've since reconciled and now we live together again and could not be happier. We should've got counseling and taken some time apart. If we had, we would've made it without losing thousands of dollars.
