Sucks to be an idiot
|
Frostbite was a risk I was willing to take, for those people that went. Not me of course. I stayed home like a smart human should.
|
Tua played like he had his throwing hand amputated before that game even started.
|
I tailgated the whole time and was there.
I was simply surprised how many idiots we're like "I have 2 layers on, I should be fine." I had 5 layers on and multiple sets of hot hands packed all over my self and was cold the bone by the end. Lesson: People are idiots. Respect negligent weather conditions for what they are. |
The article talks about Chiefs fans but it says nothing about the idiot ass Dolphin fans who probably had the same issue
|
I think the fact that tickets were so cheap had a lot of people going last second without planning ahead. Add in a shit ton of alcohol and I'm not surprised people got hurt. It sucks but it was also just so avoidable.

Just so happens to be the same number of rings Mahomes has won.
Dude better be ready to lose his pinky next year. |
I bet this gives Raiders fans ideas on how to avoid getting finger printed.

Figured going in this would be the case. I am consistently surprised when I go to Arrowhead at how light a lot of fans dress. When it's 20 degrees that may not have terrible consequences, but when it's negative temps you gotta take it seriously. That one shirtless dude that is in every pic - I would love to hear his story. Hopefully he just did that long enough to be caught by cameras and become a legend.
My group for the most part was comfortable. I've been colder at other games where we weren't as over-prepared as we were for this one. |
I saw people with thin gloves on and talked to a few people who just had a T-shirt on underneath a coat. I saw several people with tennis shoes on. If you're that stupid, maybe the price you have to pay for your stupidity is to lose a couple of toes or fingers.
|
Yeah you know paint your face lose a limb, support the team.
|
I was a season ticket holder for 18 years. I've been in some really cold weather.
Always thought the cold Nov. rain was worse that 0 degrees snow. Went to the freezing rain/ice playoff game. I think that was the coldest one because you got wet then the cold came and you are getting pelted with the ice. Not to mention our team laying a damn egg. |
I've been to a few of these arctic cold games no problem, it just requires dressing accordingly. I think i was down to thermals under regular jeans and a t shirt by halftime of the 2016 Titans game.
The only problem I've ever found is re-warming your feet once they get cold. |
I had about 9 layers on top. 6 on bottom. 2 layers of gloves and 2 layers of socks plus a mask/hat. It wasn't that bad. I would probably do it again at those temperatures if the tickets are below $80 and its a playoff game. Overall, if 71,492 attended the game and only 15 people were transported to the hospital, that's 99.99% of people made it through okay. That's a positive stat for Chiefs fans.

The booze does help you ignore the discomfort but at some point that discomfort is there to warn you. Listen to it... |
Kind of an odd article. It says that 70% need amputations, but at the end of the article it says, "The Kansas City Fire Department transported 15 people from the stadium to the hospital, seven suffering from hypothermia and three with frostbite, according to KMBC.com."
So...2 of the 3 people taken to the hospital with frostbite need amputations? Is that what this is actually saying? |
A small sacrifice for another Lombardi!
|
15 people get transported from Empower every game, no matter the weather.

Dolphins fans will have flippers now(this is so wrong)

I saw a lot of sneakers at that game. I was just shaking my head. Can't fix stupid.

If you don't lose a part of your body for your favorite team, are you even a fan?

The Chiefs should offer ticket discounts to those people based on the proportion of their body weight that was amputated. Lose a finger, get half a percent off. Lose both legs, get 30 percent off.
