Probably more to do with the fact camp starts this week. It just so happens Hali went off. It's the first time Clark is speaking to the media after firing Dorsey, so there should be plenty of questions I'd imagine.

Not expecting to hear much about anything significant. They've likely already planned how they are going to respond to questions about Dorsey and Hali.

Hunt felt like Dorsey wasn't making the Chiefs better. He believes Veach can take us to a super bowl in 3-4 years

The more I read what Hunt is saying, the more I think that Dorsey was doing too many things 'on his own'. Aka the communication issues.

On the other hand we paid a few vets that ended up being overpaid and under producing.

The cap IS what allows your team to compete. You just can't **** that up...

It definitely sounds like the vets are pissed an no-one was impressed during negotiations, but they obviously forgot Carl's reputation before Pioli....
The personnel department was bad, yet the entire story line the past 3-4 years has been "look how awesome Dorsey is at finding talent in the scrap heap".

Maybe I'm reading into too much, but sounds like Andy's opinion is held in much higher regard than the GM's.

That could say a lot about why Dorsey was fired and why they chose to promote Veach from within . . . .

Gotcha. That's been rumored before, can't imagine that has anything to do with this 2 years after the fact.

1. Didn't sign Houston when they should have, spent far too much money the following year.
2. Didn't sign Berry when they should have, spent far too much money the following year.
3. Didn't draft a QB when they should have, spent a ton (not too much, tho) to move up for one two years later.
4. Didn't extend Tamba when they should have, spent far too much to extend him the following DAY.
5. Cut Maclin via voicemail.

Seems 810 is suggesting that Clark just learned recently that Andy and the staff wanted Carr and that Dorsey wanted Ford.

Everything was smooth sailing until this offseason. What are the two biggest WTF moves this offseason?

I think Clark's investing/banking background when it comes to auditing came into play. Got to check over the entire 4 years.

My big problem with Clark's comments are that he has 2 guys in that personnel department who are now NFL Gm's. They are highly regarded and you just hired one of them.

It just seems like Clark didn't like John Dorsey. Guy and his staff built a great roster and I don't know how Clark could make garbage statements like he needed the personnel side to match the coaching.

I also don't know if this was stewing since early this year why they let Ballard go.

The Alex extension didn't happen until August, well after the 2014 draft.

I'd be willing to bet they were talking extension ever since they had given up 2 second round picks for the guy. It was obvious once the trade was made he wasn't a rent-a-player especially with how he played at the end of 13' and in the playoffs. I'm not buying the Carr theory.
