Well, that goes without saying. The starfish must be clean and pink, with no threat of accidentally disgorging any contents at you. For that matter, the front door should be as well. And it goes both ways, as I'm sure your woman appreciates it if you scrub your twig-and-berries before shoving them in her face or in any lower holes. In general, cleanliness is just polite.
