Just curious how the community at large is holding up these days. That's all.

Just fine. Nothing different in our daily life.

Business as usual so far.

Haven't heard anything from the jobs I had interviewed for earlier in this month.

Safe to say I never will hear back from them.

Seems like pretty much everything is in a state of limbo right now. Hopefully things will get moving again once things stabilize.

It's a great time to job hunt! Turns out salesmen aren't all that important these days.

But my wife still has her very solid gig and my son is doing fine so I'm OK all things considered. Just want my family to come out of this whole thing healthy and happy and nothing else really matters. I'll give it a 6 because we're currently healthy.

Wanted to go 5.5 but let's just be optimistic and round up.

Ok here as long as I do not have to go out much. We have a lot of food. Not really worried. Wont go to the store without a cloth over my mouth.

Watching a lot of TV and time on the net. If we do not lose essential services-I can ride this out. Kid 1 will have online classes until the end of the semester. She is not happy.

I hope we have online classes until June. I would come off leave to continue to teach and apply for other jobs. I am glad the Feds decided to kill the federal mandated testing this year. CV19 is the best thing to happen to BS overtesting of kids.

I work in healthcare so I still get up and go to work every day. Not much has changed outside of being unable to go to the store or out to a restaurant once in a while. But I am getting tired of questions from everyone I know just because they know where I work and what I do. I still don't have a crystal ball.

If you've read any of my posts you know one of my sons had the virus in New Rochelle (Ground ****ing zero)
He then gave it to me. It lasted a week today I'm feeling myself.
My wife and youngest son have been quarantined in my house with us so it'll be a miracle if they don't get it.
My wife is a realtor. Their ordered to shut down tonight at midnight.
I (Red lobster manager) have been put on leave of absence & have filed for unemployment.

We(NY) were already in a partial shutdown but at midnight tonight it kicks up to the next level.
Barbers,Game stops,Gyms etc.. anything retail must close their doors.

I'm 54 & I haven't been unemployed since I was 15.

My wife is high energy..work keeps her sane.


We forgot to get to the liquor store tonight so that was just salt in our gashing wound.
They close for good tonight.

I'm okay; I'm frustrated at the hysteria and hoarding. The lack of accurate information isn't helpful. Don't trust the media at all. Now the Stay at Home order; I'm almost 62 and most of my social life is with people at work. Still have a job, have food, internet, TV, etc. Just don't like being told by our government what have to do. Don't trust them, doesn't matter who it is.

My job isn’t in jeopardy, but work has been much more stressful. Having to be calm for everyone else when I don’t feel that way. Going to the grocery store to stare at empty shelves is depressing. Retirement situation has gone to shit. Worried about my dad. My wife and I have less patience for each other. About a 6.

Day-to-day hasn't changed much yet... combination of a job that won't go away, Arizona not being a hot spot yet, and having traveled a decent amount in the first ~8-10 weeks of the year already and wanting to slow down on spending and travel.

The uncertainty (not just here) sucks though.

My wife, who is or primary wage earner, had been unemployed since Thanksgiving. She started a new job like four days before the shit hit the fan. I keep telling her how ****ing lucky we are because shits going to be messed up for a while.

Hope you have something and were just looking for something else.

My right arm is starting to get a little tired but other than that things are relatively ok.

My wife and I are fortunate enough to be able to travel a lot. It's kind of the thing we do that makes everything else worth it.

Thus far, we've canceled a trip to New Orleans with her parents this coming week. I have a trip planned to see a friend in St. Louis in 2 weeks. Trip to Italy this summer is almost certainly off. And a trip to NYC this summer to show my parents the City is in jeopardy.

I can't really complain. My job, while not 100% assured, is relatively stable. But man....the highs in life for the foreseeable future have been replaced with an indefinite period of sitting at home bored. That sucks.

Given what it took last time around, I'm expecting it will take about 500 applications to yield maybe 5 interviews over twelve full months.

We’re closing tomorrow at 6 until it’s safe to reopen. All of us are healthy and we have more than most. We won’t be going to California and our Europe trip for next year might have to be moved back, but overall I’m just trying to look at this as a staycation and be glad I have tons of pto and stored assets.

As much as things have definately sucked, you have two small silver linings. If you've had it now, you know you can't get it again, and you know that after you're healthy that you can't give it to anyone else.

Small comfort given what you're going through but you will have some peace of mind going forward that others won't.

I voted 5 only because on Jan 1st it looked like this was the year we got back on track after a couple very tumultuous years. Now everything is up in the air again. I don't even want to know what's happened to the Mrs' 401k.

Then I read a post like Iron Chief's and it puts things right into perspective. I really have nothing to complain about. There's only so much I can control, so I'm just trying to be smart in my day to day activities and hope for the best. And in kind of an odd way, I'm enjoying the things I have more than I did before this mess got started. There's always a silver lining, just gotta look for it.

I still have a job (for today at least), food and money. Sitting at home? Whatever.

We're being asked to sit at home for awhile, not fight in a war.

Socially I'm a 10. It's actually pretty pleasant to hang around the house for a while.

Physically I'm an 8. Really, the only problem is just a worry that I'll get sick or that my grocery store will run out of food. Both are low likelihood, but they're floating in the back of my mind.

Financially, I'm a 3, if that. Maybe a 2. My retirement money took a major hit and my company is almost certainly going to take a major hit. I really hated the Great Recession, and this is running a similar course.

On average, then, it's a 7, but I'll bump it to 8 because my physical concerns are probably overwrought.

And you still cant get them to quit whining.

1. I'm getting 20 hours a week OT at Amazon plus we got a $2 an hour raise until April 30th so my checks are jumping up nice

2. I'm doing 90% of what I normally do with little change

3. NEGATIVE is I miss sitting at the bar of my favorite restaurants and I'm sick of the same shit for takeout on my dinner break at Amazon.

My wife is a phleb at a small lab so still has a job (for now) and I have enough in the bank for us to live for a while and I’m still nervous. I can’t imagine what it must feel like to have a large family with no money coming in. Grocery stores still don’t have tp but the local Whole Foods had plenty of meat again today. Roads are clear, gas is cheap, and we’re putting this time to good use by cleaning out the house of unneeded shit. Trying to go for a walk every day and not get fatter.

My parents just got back from italy and they are old. They got some time left on the quarentine

Got laid off from my weekend jod as a valet at a 4 star hotel. Kinda miss the environment. Still have my main job as a welder/Fabricator

I rely on rental income now. One renter is a bartender and out of work. Another family are Japanese and own a steak house, its shut down. Waiting for the inevitable call/text that they can't pay rent. Ughhh!

I still have mortgages, taxes and insurance to pay on those properties and am scheduled to close on two properties Tuesday. Ughhh!

I've ordered 4 truck loads of flagstone for inventory stocking for rock season and don't know if people are going to be spending on that type stuff this year. Ughh!

GF and I are both essentially retired and really haven't gone out and done stuff for two years or so, so no real hardship in that regard. We're (very happily) homebodies. The scary thing is, I pop into the store every once in a while, she already has COPD, and I don't want to bring the damn bug home to her. I wipe down everything before bringing it in the door.

We dare not visit my 80+ year old parents right now, but all in all, our lives have not been disrupted nearly as much as most.

Most of the hardship I have personally is unrelated to the virus. Seems like it has been a tough spring. I’m like 5000 acres behind on spraying and the weather won’t cooperate. Had some help hired this winter one lasted a month the other didn’t get much done so now it’s time to roll and shit isn’t done. Not to mention the fact that every problem that can pop up from shit sitting all winter is popping up.

On the virus front, I need to be solely focused on running that sprayer until like the middle of April. So it seems like every little inconvenience is magnified when I haven’t had time to **** with it. Wife has to teach from home. They have a virtual meeting tomorrow to see how that will go. And the hysteria has hit my little bitty - should be reasonable town. Despite the closest case being 150 or so miles away.

All told I should be an 8 or 9. But with the spring I seem to be having blah. I chose 5.

It should be noted that I face some supply side risk. Supply chain disruption even for a month could be catastrophic.

And that’s not to mention that the grain prices are in the toilet. I’m long out of any physical positions. My criminally undersized hedges are making a bit of money. Yay.

I have tenants too and most are in hospitality and restaurant business. I have to still pay the mortgage.

Back is hurting since I had to pick up a patient off the floor Friday night he was dead weight but not dead. So i called in last night and all i've done is sleep and I wanted to do things but little motivation or just flat tired from all these hours I've been working like 180 hours in two weeks is taking it's toll. We are short staffed as **** and staff are freaking out about possible lock down on campus.

I made the 600 mile round trip to Wichita yesterday to pick up a quarter of beef and didn't even turn on the radio/music.

When I stopped for gas or to pee, only one attendant was wearing rubber gloves, everything else seemed pretty normal.

Then I drive by both casinos that are closed and Towne East Mall, had an empty parking lot on a Saturday. :(

My dad is 75 and lives alone in KS. Even if he doesn't get it, I know he's scared and by himself and that's torture.

After 5 years of planning, saving, working hard and making the right decisions, the wife and I put our condo on the market and purchased a new home. A big step up for us requiring a lot of financing. Did all the research and had a specific date circled on the calendar. Thought we were being super strategic all for the timing to become complete shit. We move a week from today so will have to interact with the title company, movers, cable installers, etc. Doing a same day close on both properties so we'll have to do an Airbnb for 1 night. Not ideal. Feel we could get exposed down the road if the housing market craters.

Feel my job is secure for the time being but am committed to staying proactive and getting my hustle on to get through this. Trying my best to not worry about things that haven't happened.

A melancholy 7 I guess.

It's been a weird last 2 weeks for sure. Wife is working from home, but as far as we know, her job is safe. I still go in to work, it's a probation office, and so far the criminal industry is up and running, but we've had to make serious adjustments to the way we do things. Still, I'm the System Admin, and as long as we are "in business" I'm good to go.

Personally, I'm a devout Catholic, and today is the first Sunday that I can't go to Mass and receive communion, which to us is pretty paramount to our faith. I'll be watching Mass on line this morning, but still, it's far from the same. I'm involved in a few ministries at Church which have all shut down as well. I was supposed to go on a 3 day retreat this weekend...and that's out. Basically, my wife and I find ourselves having a TON of time on our hands.

Started prepping the garden yesterday. Really wish we had gotten that acreage we looked at a few years ago. I work out at Orange Theory, and they shut down but provide daily "at home" workouts, which I'll do today and then take a run around the neighborhood.

We started binge-ing "Justified" last night and next week Ozark comes on...and next month The Last Kingdom comes back, so TV wise we have some stuff to watch I guess. But I feel like a couple of weeks of this and the lack of doing anything meaningful will really start to take it's toll.

But, God is Good all the time, and we will get through this. It's just surreal, annoying, and a little scary. But it makes me think of how many people around the world live like this kinda all the time. We're quite spoiled in America, and we're finding out that all our diversions are a luxury...and we've gotten quite fat and happy indeed. I don't watch the media other than for a few minutes here and there to get information on what's what. But I don't watch it, the fear mongering and sniping and blaming are nothing I want to get into.

God Bless you all, and I hope this ends soon. But if it doesn't, I hope all who are inclined will turn to God for wisdom, strength and peace. And those who are not inclined to, well...I'm praying for you anyway.

Everything was going fine until mid-February. I had just paid off my car loan 2 years early, my retirement account was on track for another great year, and just got seniority at my new job. I was looking at getting a newer car (or possibly even brand new) since things were going so well.

Then the Coronapocalypse happened.

My biggest gripe is losing so much in my retirement account after the stock market took a nose dive. I'm sure it will eventually recover, but it's still frustrating. And I won't be getting a newer car, or any big ticket item, until things return to normal.

One minor inconvenience is that the casinos are shut down. I usually go there on the weekends to hit up the buffet and penny slots. This was how I got my entertainment fix.

The biggest positive is that my employer was deemed part of the "critical infrastructure industry" by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which means that business will carry on as usual. We might even see a temporary spike in business with more people ordering shit online. So for the time being, I'm not worried about missing paychecks. I had to turn down an extra day of work for next week because I'm so physically worn out.

I can work from home so I am not losing any pay, my company is almost recession proof & actually does better with economic downturns (professional services and financial consulting primary business), but the people I love are getting hit with some financial challenges due to furloughs and lack of business.

My girlfriend flew down from KC last week (trip was planned before everything went nuts) and we weren't able to do anything we had planned; hockey game, dining out at a couple of my fav places here in Nashville, and night out on the town. We decided to fly her back a day early, she was getting worried that her 16 year old daughter was starting to freak out a bit so we changed her flight.

I recognize that I am lucky and I am grateful that my income and job are secure and that those that I care about are safe and in good health.

Family and friends are all healthy as far as I know. Work is stable for now and won’t totally go away but I could lose some income for a period of time(I’m not complaining. I’m very grateful to have an “essential” job). Had some extra $ so we took advantage of cheap rates to invest some and to max out our IRAs for the year. We have food and supplies. Kids are adjusting to home schooling. The Mrs and I go for at least one long walk per day.

I feel awful for people losing their jobs and businesses. They’re people out there who worked their whole lives to, for example, start a restaurant that they opened in January of this year. Now, they’re ****ed. I don’t like the amount of government control being doled out. I’m not saying it’s inappropriate or not. I just don’t like it. And, while it ranks low on the big picture scale, I really miss sports. We’re all supposed to be watching the NCAA tournament with our buddies, not dealing with this shit!
