Chiefs sign OG Kelechi Osemele to 1 year deal.

Damn. Nice move.
|
The last former Raiders guard we acquired worked out pretty damn nicely.
|
He's huge. I think he's the biggest guy on the roster.
|
Good deal.
I hope he works out. |
Is he still any good?
|
|
In Veach we trust.

He's got 20lbs on most of our guys. I bet Andy runs 10lbs off of him almost immediately. |
Lots of haters on Twatter calling him a dumpster fire and a fatass for losing his job to a 6th round pick.
I hope we got this guy cheap. |
I’m not sure how good he still is. He had a major injury on his shoulder.
Speaking of Gase and the tire fire that is the Jets..

Jets OL Kelechi Osemele has been told by two doctors that he needs shoulder surgery, per source.

The source says the Jets have been attempting to delay surgery by sending blank and incorrect MRI images to doctors...even going as far as refusing to release workers comp forms.
— Adam Lefkoe (@AdamLefkoe) October 18, 2019
They released him after this. Hope he wins every grievance against those ****s |
Reminds me of getting Cam Erving from a value standpoint.
Osemele had a couple good years, got hurt and was on bad teams after that and his play fell off. Hopefully Heck can get the best out of him and he rejuvenates his career. |

PFF Grades
Osemele- 56 LDT- 59 That's interesting. What's even more interesting is Osemele was a first team All-Pro in 2016. That's mind blowing. |
First team all pro in 2016. Pro bowl 16 and 17.
The upside is there. Just turned 31, though... |

I am sure he is anxious to prove the Jets wrong for how they treated him. I hope he plays with a chip on his shoulder. |
SING HIM CAROL!!!
|
Let's see if he can pass a physical before slotting him as a starter on the offensive line.
|
Larry Warford still out there.

On paper, Warford seems like the better move but I doubt he'd sign this early for Vet Min. |

Also, he’s a career LG.

This move sorta lets the cat out of the bag they were caught off guard with Tardiff's opt out. Hope this guy can step in and help for Pats sake.

I was worried more about his height and whether it would block the vision of Mahomes. At 6'5"/330lb he is the ideal size to handle big Dlineman in the interior. He was drafted in the 2nd round so he should have decent skills. I just hope he's in shape. |

I don't understand the snark. If this guy plays well for us then people will pour the love on him too. |

This is a very underrated post. |
He was a monster a few years ago. Maybe he still has something left

But.. If he returns to Pro Bowl form- what a steal! |

Maybe they knew it was possible a week or so ago who knows. Could have had feelers out for a bit. |
It’ll be Mike Remmers spot. This is purely a depth move.
|
PFF rules!!!!!!
They're smarter than you. Get over it. |

I was getting excited about this move until this post. Remmers is a turnstile. Thanks Debbie Downer.... :harumph: |
LMAO Yeah, he was playing with an injury that required surgery. Wonder why he sucked so bad, PFF?

So how much did LDT save us and what did this POS cost?
|
Reid loves guards with experience at T.
|
He’s not his old self but this is absolutely an upgrade IMO.

Remmers is garbage |
Looks like a Veach move to me. Maybe we can fix him.

I really thought the Chiefs would pursue him after LDT opted out. |
Andy, Veach, and Chiefs doctors must have called BS on the 2 doctors who recommended shoulder surgery because IF that were fact no way would they sign him.

Hey, on the bright side there's pretty much no chance that Cam Erving will be on the line this season . . .

He's been a malcontent but he's rested and hungry. Good move by Veach to bolster our depth.

PFF hires people off the street to "grade" players, people with zero knowledge of football but most importantly, ZERO knowledge of the individual's assignments. Their grades are completely and utterly worthless, much like your posts. |
Osemele signed for only 2 million.
Word is Warford is looking for 7 million. That could have something to do with it. |
Jets ****ed up his injury. I have no doubt he’s going to come in here and play like a pro bowler, because Jets. ;)

Osemele isn’t long in the tooth. Either is Wis. |
Really preferred Josh Kline, but I like the move. If he's healthy, he's damned good.

They see Niang as the long game starter at RG, I think. Osemele is a lottery ticket they hope will give us a dependable option at LG if nobody else (Rankin, Wylie) steps up and owns the position. I think they might see one of the younger guys we got in UDFA as the long term starter at one of the other interior line spots. |

Needed to take action and they did in less than a day. Can’t ask for more.
Best case scenario is Rankin and Niang dominate and take the guard spots and he doesn’t have to play. Worst case is Remmers and Osemele are our best guards and to me that’s actually a slight upgrade from what we saw most of last year. We really don’t have to obsess about guards anymore. That’s the nice thing. How many guys started there last year? Wylie, LDT, Erving and Rankin? It didn’t really matter because we have 15. |

I get PFF for WR/QB/RB and to some extent DB. Catches, drops targets etc are fairly easy to quantify.
OL is a totally different animal. Scheme, QB, RB, OL cohesiveness etc all play a big role. |
