Penalties

Per footballdb:

Terrance Mitchell leads with 4 penalties (tied with Witzmann) -- all of them from the Patriots game. Zero since! 46 yards.

Two of the hottest places to get them are always OL and secondary.

OL:

LT Eric Fisher: 2 penalties, both holds
LG Bryan Witzmann: 4 penalties, 2 holds and 2 false starts
C Mitch Morse: 0 penalties
C Zach Fulton: 0 penalties
RG Laurent Duvarney-Tardif: 0 penalties
RT Mitch Morse: 0 penalties

Secondary:

#1 CB Marcus Peters: 2 penalties, 1 holding & 1 unsportsmanlike conduct
#2 CB Terrance Mitchell: 4 penalties, 2 holding & 2 PIs
#3 CB Phillip Gaines: 2 penalties, 1 holding & 1 PI
S Ron Parker: 0 penalties
S Daniel Sorensen: 2 penalties, 1 unnecessary roughness & 1 "other"
S Eric Murray: 2 penalties, 2 holding

Zombo's also got 3 for 40 yards, Ford's got 2, and of course Kelce has 3 -- one for holding and two for being an asshole.

Alex Smith has 2 for delays of game.

Others:

KPL (2)
DAT (1)
Terrance Smith (1)
Charcandrick West (1)

Keep in mind this is only penalties accepted.

If I could throw a flag for foolishly bringing a kickoff out of the endzone, DAT would have a couple more.

If you really wanted to get a measure of team discipline, you'd need to include penalties that weren't accepted.

Our big problem is the refs are calling a TON of the subjective penalties on us... not saying most aren't legitimate, but it isn't like guys are having a ton of pre-snap errors.

Mitchell is battling a lot. I really like him out there. He has gave up some tough plays where receivers just made great plays on the ball, but he has made quite a few great plays in his own right.

Why so many this year? It was like this in pre-season too. Andy's teams are usually pretty disciplined but right now they look like 1970's Raiders.

At least Kelce didn't get a dumb penalty last game.

Except the fact that they got legitimately beaten as a team on those plays implies those penalties may be more understandable.

Thanks for the break down, but the question is still how do they correct these penalties, which I asked in the thread I started named exactly the same.

Because Reid neutered him. I think Reid sent him a message by not making him a part of the game plan.

Kelce doesn't play all 53 offensive snaps and only get targeted once for a single yard by mistake. He's been targeted at least twice in every single game of his career.

Reid absolutely sent a message.

None of the Alex-lovers mentioning the fact that Mahomes has zero penalties this year. It's funny how they only mention things that make Alex look better.

No wonder Mitch is always hurt -- he has to play Center and RT...

Two holding penalties for a left tackle isn't terrible. Delay of game penalties aren't always the QB's fault. I could have sworn that LDT and Schwartz got penalties as well?

kccrow 09-25-2017 09:10 PM

The holding penalties in the secondary are the one's irking my shit right now. They were almost all very legitimate calls. Our guys aren't getting their hands off of players outside of 5 yards and the refs are going to keep calling it until they do.
