Anyone here play Player Unknown Battleground? It is an early access game on Steam it blew up has already sold over 2 million copies so far.

You start out with nothing and you have to drop onto an island and loot guns and meds and scopes. Then you have to filter into the circle and be the last man standing. If you die you have to start all over again.

I believe all of us have at least a win now. We typically finish in the top ten in serous games.

Me and my buddies hit it real hard when it first came out. Slacked off as of recently, but still play a bunch. Do not like solo queuing at all. I loved squads at first, but I think I have the funnest time and best finishes in duos.

I've got something like 40 wins in solo and for a bit was top 20 US and 6th in kill rating in that game but I've decided to take a bit of a break from it for my health. The lag in that game is beyond absurd. Dying a handful of seconds after you are in cover and blocked from the person who killed you is enough to drive a person mad.

jesus christ WIN MORE? You need to get with us also. We have a good core but a couple of our outliers just arent improving.

As for lag, they supposedly fixed it with the patch/hotfix ths week~

We've actually been playing on the Asian servers and those have zero lag on them

Haven't played in a couple weeks but it was getting harder and harder to get any kind of consistent results. Some of it is probably people getting better at the game but I think a lot of it is just the overwhelming amount of cheese in the game.

You could already drive a car all game and go from ****boi hut to ****boi hut and avoid any and all fights while having a perfect 360 degree 3rd person view, and those ****ing things are like every 50 feet. It's like the developers looked at an open field and wondered what to do with it and just said we'll just fill it with a thousand ****boi huts. You could already sit in a bush and be damn near invisible even without a ghillie suit. But then they added the foliage patch and it turned proning in the middle of god damn no where the most broken shit in the game. I can't count the amount of times after that patch I would just stroll up on someone that was proning in the grass and not even see them until I literally stepped on their head. 99% of the time you just die from 3rd person fire and are left wondering where the **** you just got killed from. At least with the huts you can maneuver while keeping a close eye on the door and toss a nade in there, but there is literally no defense for proning in grass. There's nothing you can look back on and say that I could have played that better. Next time I'll ______.

I doubt I'll be playing that game until it's just buttery smooth or they release the first-person only servers. And I know they just released a patch and typically when they release a patch the servers are really good for like 72 hours, but they must have some kind of memory leak or something going on because they slowly but surely turn back into a steaming pile of shit. They almost need to have a weekly reset like World of Warcraft.

Tonight the lag was incredible. had to log out :/ June is supposed to bring fixes we will see.

One of those things is bullet penetration so the ****boi hut tactic is gonna get rekt.

I really don't think that's going to change much outside of a top 2 1v1 situation. There is no way I'm going to spray and pray a hut even if I know there's someone in it, it's just not a smart play, even with a suppressor, because you are just going to get sniped in the face by the guy across the map. They need to make it destructible with a nade or something so you can have vision on the person.

But the game is in early access and the optimization is shit. Need a pretty decent system to have a somewhat enjoyable experience currently. I'm on an i7 with a gtx 770 and 16GB of ram and I still have those moments where my frames just dip to the point where its borderline unplayable and everything is on very low with only a couple settings on low.

so my pentuim 100 I would probably need to turn some of the grafix down.

I'm rocking an i5 3570k a 1070 and 16gb ram and I have stable fps of around 70

I've actually been watching my son play this for the past week or so, got intriguing enough that I played a couple of times. I'm so damned rusty at gaming.... holy hell. My first 2 games.

1. Died to the Forcefield.

2. Died to an explosion in a redzone while riding a motorbike.

Takes me so much longer to clear a house than he does. Damned young gamers...

Oh and I got 2 kills through like 4 solo games! It's stupid addicting, and fun for being such a simple concept.

I'v got a couple of buddies who play this but I haven't gotten into it myself.

we won a squad last night, it was pretty fun

Ya I've seen my son's group of friends (with him) win the squad a couple of times. He's won the solo once, and his duo has one it like 4-5 times. Duo seems like he has the most fun, to me.

I'd love to play more, i'm just terrible at gaming (having not played anything for 5-6 years). I'm just so out of practice... so I watch him lol

I didnt start playing shooters period until i was 37 and a half years old. Anyone can do it Are you going to suck at first? yep, but you will get the hang of it as long as you keep playing. I dont play this game, i didnt care for it, but if it has a practice mode, try that.

I ask alot of guys who are good at shooters on the best way to practice my aim and each and everyone (even twitch streamers) say Play Deathmatch in CS:GO dont worry about your K/D ratio just practice shooting at the head and it will come. It transfers over to other shooters.

CS:GO is like 15 bucks or 7 bucks on sale. Its worth it for the practice.

Eh... I used to be a hardcore gamer 10-15 years ago... Just don't have the time or patience to get that involved into it anymore. Used to be very good, so that's part of the frustration for me... when I picked up a controller or keyboard I expected to be able to jump in and wreck shit. Unfortunately, reality slapped me in the face with a Fish. That realization led me to sitting next to my son and daughters cheering them on lol.

A big part of getting good at an FPS is learning the maps. Knowing common camp areas, common routes and spawn points. Being able to anticipate where someone is instead of soley relying on reflexes.

Thats the easiest thing to learn in these games, the hardest thing to do is shoot accurately. Mouse tracking is more important and harder to learn then the rest. YOu can just get a map and study it and realize where you are. Tracking takes a ton of practice. Im a King of the Kill player, i like the faster action myself. I play with a bunch of people that we loot up and just hunt people down. IF we die, we die, we start up another! lol

When I play, I always check the channel and you always have 4 or 5 guys in it.

I have never seen you in voice ever. We arent all always playing together. A lot of times we have 1 or 2 or 3. We can also run two groups.

If you dont take a shot cant get a hit.

I broke down and bought it yesterday.... Second game in I placed #2 in solo. Absolutely heart-pumping excitement down to the end. Haven't made top 10 since. Did get 7 kills in one game (still didn't make top 10).

That was a squad game with 3 CP people and one of our other gaming buddies. At the end we had them 3 vs 1 and the 1 guy downed both me and Buck. Our other friend didn't even SEE the guy but ended up running up and UMPing him in a frenzy.

Not gonna lie, no one flanking along that ridgeline in the 2v1 at the end was tilting me.

Rumor has it that they've pinpointed the desync issues in the coding and the next patch will be targeting it. Might have to keep an eye out on this game again.

How will it do with a 7770.

/paired with i7, 16gb.

Probably less than good. The minimum recommended GPU is a 660/7850 which are 2 GB cards. The 7770 is 1 GB, unless they offered 2 GB and you happened to have one. I'm not not too familiar with AMD offerings of the past.

Someone explain this to me because it makes no ****ing sense.

So I can turn handles, open car doors, and loot items when reloading my gun but I can no longer use my ****ing finger to switch the fire rate while reloading. Thats the very first thing I did when picking up an AR simultaneously. Thats such a ****ing stupid change.

I always wondered why you could manipulate fire mode while reloading. Seems fine to me.

You can interact with those things, but it won't complete the reload.. it cancels it. Before you could start a reload and then if you got in a situation where you wanted to open a door or jump in a car or whatever... you had to wait for the reload to complete, first... This is just adding in the ability to stop a timed process to do another action if necessary. Seems like a good enhancement.

Because its the only action in the entire game you can do while reloading. (until now)

This is a game.

That makes no sense. It's a game with realism in mind. Being able to change the firing rate while reloading makes perfect sense. Adding the ability to interact with doors and vehicles and items while removing the ability to flick your thumb on the toggle switch to change the firing rate is reeruned.

I like to jump into battle and picking up a gun, reloading, and then having to wait til the reload is complete to switch to auto could be the difference between life and death. Not only that but I can envision times where you reload and try to switch too early and it doesn't register then when you get in a fight you shoot one bullet and stand there looking like an idiot after. That happened to me on more than one occasion which is why I changed to immediately switching to auto while reloading on intial pickup. There's no logical reason why you shouldn't be able to do both at the same time.

Just because I don't like certain aspects of a game and think certain decisions are ****ing reeruned and the dev's choose the lazy route of copy pasting buildings all over a field to enhance the cheese factor for shit players doesn't mean I don't like the game.

It's a good game and no I don't choose to play it any more because of said reasons. Oh so you are mindlessly running around with no reason or purpose for any tactical advantage? Here... take your pick of 500 huts to camp in til the end of time. Oh btw we are going to make them destructible in the future but to make up for this change the one next door will be concrete so make sure you pick that one instead. What's that you say? You can't find a hut? Ok... here's a patch of grass you can prone in and pretend to be Harry Potter with an invisibility cloak. I've played 4 games in the last couple days after a month break and I'm left with the same unsatisfied taste in my mouth. The only thing that will save the game for me is first-person only servers.

PUBG was the only game I played for 2 months after it was released on steam. After a while it started to get stale because of the lag and desync and the addition of more and more things to devalue the skill of the game.
