I double checked the math, and the analytics agree that scoring runs (the more the better actually) gives you a better chance of winning.

WTH happened to Ragans in the 2nd?

The Royals were rallying and he got thrown out trying to go 1st to 3rd with Witt coming up.

Kept getting 2 strikes on the hitters, but was leaving his change-up "up" and that led to a bunch of dinkers, doinkers, and seeing eye hits, which snowballed into a couple of hard hit extra base hits. Just couldn't quite find it, and the Orioles hitters really battled him.

Yup. Cost us a minimum of 1 run and likely more.
