It will be interesting to see how close it is to this projected contract:

Very underrated player. Most here were upset with this draft pick but he turned into one of Bert's better draft picks. As a 5th rounder.

When he was drafted, many here viewed it as a wtf pick. Dana didn't even have a draft profile from any of the reputable draft websites or barely any college tape.
Veach drafted him after he had a very solid senior bowl. It was definitely considered as an odd pick at the time.

I like this signing; I was worried we might lose him. I'd like to see Bolton locked up for a while since we should still have some money left over from the Sneed trade.

Had to do this after the Sneed trade. Doesn’t seem like Mike gave much of a discount but that’s just fine, I’ll pay him 8 million a year for what he brings.

Wanna know why other franchises are bad? Because they didn't want to offer this criminally underrated players a real contract. Now he's a Chief for the next three years.

8 million a year for defensive depth is pricey.

Seems like we always have money for defensive backups but not offensive starters.

It seemed unlikely that the Chiefs would bring back those guys… although with the Rice situation maybe that changes.

Also McKinnon another free agent who maybe will return.

Solid deal but honestly this is the kind of player/contract I'd have rather moved off of. This C+/B- players need to be replaced in the draft as we get deeper into PMs deal.

Agreed. More years than i thought and more expensive than i thought too. A little pricey for what would ideally be a part time rotational player.

Allows them to move off of Omenihu after this season. I like it. Will probably see another DL added in the draft. Not sure it’s on day 1 or 2 though.

Except Omenihu is quite a bit better than Danna, IMO.

In an idea world Danna is a rotational player. Omenihu, OTOH, is an every down starter when healthy.

Defense should still be elite. Will kiss Gay and Snead but we should be pretty damn good. This is why you cant pay Snead after paying Jones.

It's not bad, no.

But I'd take Sneed and 2 draft pick players for less than 3 guys like Danna at his price point.

But ultimately it's a deal that has very little chance of going 'bad'. The player and the contract are both fine. It's a philosophical thing. I'm just surprised we've chosen to retain him rather than keep that powder fry and use it to hunt for bigger game.

He’s sneaky good and has developed well, but he’s the type I think I’d have preferred we let get his second contract elsewhere.

I don't think they re-sign him if Omenihu doesn't tear his ACL.

Danna was very solid last year and Omenihu isn't going to play much if at all this year. Good signing. He gets no love but really has done some nice work for the Chiefs.

He gives Frank Clark results for a discount.

Last year, several players, and Spags, called Danna the unsung hero of the defense.

Just tells you how important he is to Spags and the defense. Danna is an unsung hero in my opinion.

A certain someone probably didn't develop how they'd hoped up to this point so they brought Danna back to start.

Just for kicks, I compared Danna's stats last year to any of Frank Clark's years in KC and I'd be interested to see anyone try to say, after the same comparison, that this isn't a pretty darn good deal in relation.

5 years and 63 million guaranteed versus 3 years and 13 million guaranteed? Jesus, folks, seek help if you think the Chiefs overpaid.

Yeah but they're not giving this contract to Danna just to be depth. And I'm pretty sure they expected FAU to develop faster than he did. No one drafts a player in the 1st round expecting them to be a healthy scratch in the playoffs.

He's made some flash plays nearly every time he's been on the field, as little as it's been.

I'm not saying he's God's gift to football or anything, only that I find it a bit ridiculous that one of the first reactions people are having to being 3-deep at DE is, "Well, one of them must be sucking ass..."

In relation, setting $10 million/season on fire at the 50 yard line is a pretty darn good deal.

I'm delighted to see him back. He's a two-time Super Bowl champion.

Would have preferred to find a similar level player for 3-4 million as a vet DE ring chaser.
