Crazy Browns WR Deal: Jerry Jeudy $58m over 3 years and $41m guaranteed

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Browns?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Browns</a> and WR <a href="https://twitter.com/jerryjeudy?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@jerryjeudy</a> have agreed to a three-year contract extension worth up to $58 million, including $41 million fully guaranteed at signing, per me and <a href="https://twitter.com/TomPelissero?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@TomPelissero</a>. <br><br>The deal was negotiated by <a href="https://twitter.com/EquitySports?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@equitysports</a> CEO <a href="https://twitter.com/chriscabott?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@chriscabott</a>. <a href="https://t.co/ozzyd4Qps8">pic.twitter.com/ozzyd4Qps8</a></p>&mdash; Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) <a href="https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1770159857720607184?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 19, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

This deal is so crazy is deserves it's own thread. It's even more mental when you take into account the Hollywood Brown and Curtis Samuel deals done this week.

...what the ****?

Why they just didn’t wait to see how he meshes with Watson is beyond me

Crazy man

Wisconsin_Chief 03-19-2024 05:03 PM

Good thing Hollywood agreed to terms before this happened. Can’t believe he had to take a 1-year deal. Pat’s going to get him $20 million a year.

MahomesMagic 03-19-2024 05:03 PM

Kirk got 18 million a year.

What's crazy is how Jeudy has been used so far.

If you want to make him a focal he could get 100 catches a year.

Chris Meck 03-19-2024 05:04 PM

Watson is a dumpster fire. It won't matter a bit.

YOLO balls to Hopkins made Watson look like a good QB. He isn't.

DRM08 03-19-2024 05:05 PM

The receiver market is stupid.

I wonder what Steve Smith Sr thinks of this deal

Has the hash for the Browns on Tater

RealSNR 03-19-2024 05:21 PM

It's hilarious to think that the Browns could be the unquestioned 2nd best team in the AFC right now if they pay Baker right after his awful play injured season for a slight discount.

I know we make fun of the Niners for their amazeballs roster and game manager QB who can't get it done, but the Browns without Watson's contract and those draft picks back? Assuming Baker plays like he did in 2020 or slightly better?

This isn't helping.

With as much time as Watson misses does it really matter?

ChiefsFanatic 03-19-2024 05:38 PM

The Browns are upset with the Commanders, Raiders, and Broncos, because they used to be the undisputed worst organization in the league, and now they are really having to work to get the title back.

I am surprised that 100% of the contract wasn't guaranteed. If they keep this up, soon special teams gunners will be getting multi-year guaranteed contracts because the Browns just can't help themselves.

At least Cleveland signed two back-up QB's with starting experience to back-up their $250+ million fully guaranteed starter.

Bump 03-19-2024 05:43 PM

Browns gonna Brown

493rd 03-19-2024 05:54 PM

The Browns are a joke of a franchise. What a ridiculous deal for a loser like Jeudy.

Red Dawg 03-19-2024 06:04 PM

This deal is Bronco level of stupid. He's a mediocre WR.

notorious 03-19-2024 06:08 PM

Dumbest franchise on the planet.

kccrow 03-19-2024 06:29 PM

Are they hoping he can take over for Amari Cooper next year as the focal point? Otherwise, hmm.

BlackHelicopters 03-19-2024 06:31 PM

Stupidity.

Well, yeah, they both have orange in their color scheme.

Pasta Little Brioni 03-19-2024 08:53 PM

I'd rather have Hollywood plus he's much cheaper ROFL

Pasta Little Brioni 03-19-2024 08:54 PM

For zilla and Mav...Same old sorry ass Browns

Megatron96 03-20-2024 02:39 PM

Yeah, CLE is doubling/tripling down on titanically stupid.

Heard a clip from Schlereth the other day and he said that aneurysm was a great athlete, but a bad football player. Pointed out (showed clips of several plays) numerous examples of Jeudy not blocking for his teammates, running lazy routes, even completely dogging routes. Apparently he even benched himself during a game?

What I am surprised about is Stefanski okayed this deal. He has to have reviewed the tape you’d expect?

That's a funny auto-correct.

PAChiefsGuy 03-20-2024 02:57 PM

I think Browns owner is just trying to keep them competitive. He knows they will have to overpay for any FA. No one wants to go there unless they are being overpaid.
