I will eat there!

Sounds like a great place for a $100 lunch

New World Order 03-14-2024 12:07 PM

Should have called it Mahomes and Maauto

This place is going to print money.

digger 03-14-2024 12:09 PM

They could server dog food on a bun (not that they would) and the place would be packed every night...

Buffalo burgers should be on the menu

This place will literally be printing money the second it opens.

I'm sure people said the same about George Brett's restaurant on the Plaza, and that didn't last too long.

wazu 03-14-2024 12:19 PM

I might have to quit my job and try to become a waiter there.

Buehler445 03-14-2024 12:36 PM

Restaurant business is hard. I hope it prints money.

Swift should randomly show up periodically and it probably would print money.

I hate to see this. I don't want to see them coming to games tired because they've been cooking and busing tables on Saturday night.

InChiefsHeaven 03-14-2024 12:46 PM

Another expensive steak house. I mean, cool I guess. I'd go if I'm down there, just to see it and try it. But...steak houses are a dime a dozen.

I think its bussing, not busing...or is it?

Katipan 03-14-2024 12:50 PM

Well, they could do a bowling alley like Broncos players.

But it feels much easier to overcharge rich people for Bourbon and waygu. And they have a safe place to be kings. With tax write offs.

I'd actually be kind of disappointed if they didn't have something alluding to that on the menu. You don't have to literally have it be ketchup - you could create some sort of tomato-based sauce and call it "Patrick's style" or whatever. A legit chef could make that delicious.

Pepe Silvia 03-14-2024 01:32 PM

I'll take strip steak, medium.

A few of menu items they should have:

1. A footlong brat named The Jonesy
2. The Big Red burger
3. The Patrick Special--Steak w/ketchup (actually a great red sauce that looks like ketchup)--Idea stolen from DaFace.
4. Spagnuolo Spaghetti Plate
5. Grim Reaper Ribeye

Not so much these days...I don't know if there is a consensus "best steak house" in KC these days that isn't a chain. KC used to be known for steak houses, but is definitaly a BBQ town now. IS JJ's as good as it was in the previous location? I've never really heard much about Stock Hill, I've heard good word about Pierpont's...been to 801 Chop House, Eddie Vs, Capital Grille, et al-good steaks, but not worth the price these days imho.

MMXcalibur 03-14-2024 02:30 PM

Gay much with that footlong Jonsey brat idea.

frozenchief 03-14-2024 03:33 PM

They should have a 'mystery' sandwich (steak sandwich) presented in a brown paper bag called 'The 58' for DT and all of his sacks.

Anything well done should be "Haley style", because its burnt beyond all hope of redemption.

They should have a cold cocktail, like a Dirty Martini or a French 75, be called the Lenny for Lenny the Cool.

I'd suggest a 'yard' of beer named the Charles but a yard of beer is more fitting to a Westport bar than a nice steakhouse.

There are a variety of things they could do but I just had a $100+ lunch, including drinks (and there were a few of those), so my brain isn't functioning as well as it should be.

In Omaha, it's all about steak houses...and I'm kinda over them. I love a good steak, and there are many overpriced options to get one. There's a swanky ala carte one in the Old Market called Spencers...great steak...****ing expensive.

I don't really find it worth it tbh. But that's just me. I'd go to this place if I'm in KC just to do it. I don't think they are going to have a steak that will blow my mind.

Meh. Maybe I'm just old too. There's that...

Punwit 03-14-2024 03:44 PM

A, "Travis" delivery. A steak fresh off the grill flipped to your table and you have to catch it on your plate.

I agree with this take. I've had some expensive ass steak dinners comped in Las Vegas. They were good, better than I can do at home, but for $100+ per person? They're not that much better than what I can make at home. Steakhouses just aren't worth it to me if I'm paying 100% out of pocket.

saphojunkie 03-14-2024 03:54 PM

Kids menu includes corndog right (with meat) and corndog left (impossible meat).

Big Red Cheeseburger with fries or Jet Wasp Chips.

If you want pork, I suggest the tomahawk chop.

I thought a Tom and Jerry cocktail would be a good name for a creative mixologist. Too bad it already exists and wouldn't work in a steakhouse.

I wish them luck. The restaurant business business is a bitch to establish and be a success. The only steakhouse that I care about in Downtown KC is The Majestic. It would take high praise to lure me there in the Downtown area over what I know is good. Hell I'll drive to Martin City for Jess and Jims because I also know I won't be disappointed.

This restaurant is not a start-up. Mahomes and Kelce are investing and their names are affiliated. Noble 93 are well known and have had great success with restaurants all over the US.

I've had some great steaks, none worth the price of a steak house these days. I may have just gotten lucky, but the best steaks I ever had were $6.99 ribeyes from Hy-Vee that a cooked on high on my old Weber gas grill. Just a little rub, rested them in butter in foil, best ever. I'm with you though, the only thing that may blow my doors off is a wagyu steak....that someone else would have to pay for

Yeah, I read that means nothing to me. Have they had success in the KC market? We will see but it's tough in Downtown KC. One by one those steakhouses that have gone in Plaza and Downtown went the wayside and old established places just keep rolling on.

We went to a restaurant a couple of weeks ago that has a generally good steak. Over the past five years it's gone from $30 to $55, and that's a no. I can get 11 Wendy's Meal Deals for that price.

Before scho laughs at me, I've gone to high-end steak houses and paid $100 for a meal. But that's usually for special occasions. The restaurant above is a restaurant that we'll just wander into for lunch occasionally.

Pepe Silvia 03-14-2024 06:16 PM

Crazy thing is Texas Roadhouse is about as good as some the expensive steakhouse joints for alot less of the price.

Katipan 03-14-2024 08:02 PM

There are 600 Texas Roadhouse restaurants that each cut a million dollars worth of beef every year. It's the same steak. Just more of them.

Probably an unpopular take but you’re not wrong.

Roadhouse is comparable to fast food prices anymore, which is downright crazy. Depending on what we order we’re about $40 at the to-go window at Roadhouse. Last time we got Popeyes for both of us it was $36 and they messed up our shit.

Rain Man 03-14-2024 09:47 PM

Anyone remember that mini-trend in the late 1980s where restaurants would put the grill out in the dining room, and you would pick out and cook your own steak? Then 33 percent of the time someone wouldn't pay attention and overcook their steak, so they'd steal yours and leave you with a burnt nub of a steak.

That wasn't a great idea on several fronts. I didn't go to restaurants with a goal of cooking my own food.

Well yeah but then you have to cook, shop, prep, do dishes, and maintain the grill. When I go to a restaurant I just roll in and I don't gotta do any of that. Life is too short to cook.

I’ll start with the extra did you dirty Purdy Vodka martini
For an appetizer I’ll have the Fried Rocky Mountain Oysters Bronco style (crushed)
The Luck wedge salad broken in three places.
For the main I’ll have the 13 ounce Allen cut KC strip with the Butker70 garlic butter sauce
And finally for dessert I’ll have the Joe Burrow cinnamon care bear crumble cake.
