Higgins not in Cincy's future plans ?

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/t...ns-per-report/

Would be nice to dream!

BigRedChief 09-08-2023 09:22 PM

He’s going to get $30 million. If we didn’t pay Hill that money, why would we give it to him?

smithandrew051 09-08-2023 09:22 PM

Jones for Higgins!!!! LFG!!!

(Just kidding. I wanted to be the first one to suggest that.)

PHOG 09-08-2023 09:24 PM

"My job is just to come in every day and do what I do best, just work, and catch the ball from No. 9," Higgins said.

Hear that CJ?

Mike Evans has a similar approach in Tampa.

Stryker 09-08-2023 09:42 PM

Cinci is ****ED! Burrow enjoy your funds because you just lost - Higgins, Mixon and then there's Chase! I am LOVING THIS! ROFL

Megatron96 09-08-2023 09:51 PM

According to the article, his projected new contract would be in the $25 million/yr range. Fwiw.

For what he would bring on the field, it'd be worth it.

Christ, this will never happen, not in a million freaking years. Someone should delete this thread before I think about this insanity too much longer.

wazu 09-08-2023 09:52 PM

It's okay we don't need him we spent a bunch of Day 2 picks on WR.

I would guess he gets closer to $30M on the open market.

Maybe. But this past FA WR market was as slow as molasses. That might continue for another year. He might have to settle for a little less.

OFFS. There I go again, sucking off unicorns.

Never mind. The Chiefs are never going to even make an offer for Higgins. $30 million it is.

kevrunner 09-08-2023 10:06 PM

Can’t believe he is only 24 years. He’s actually younger than Kadarius Toney (only by 1 day).

Because we now have evidence that Veach can’t draft WRs

Roy have you ever tried Clancy's Pub Style pretzels from Aldi?

JohnnyHammersticks 09-08-2023 11:16 PM

Pickens is going to be even better than Higgins (imo) and we could've had him on a rookie deal for 4 seasons.

But, but, but, Skyy Moore + Kinnard!!! :shake:

ThyKingdomCome15 09-09-2023 01:56 AM

He's not even a #1 WR. Dude feasts on Chase drawing coverage. Good player though.

Rainbarrel 09-09-2023 05:38 AM

But Cincinnati drafts do well!

…at the tip top of every round

Dunerdr 09-09-2023 06:28 AM

MIKE EVANS ON WHATEVER IS LEFT ON HIS DEAL +AN EXTENSION TO MAKE IT WORK

TwistedChief 09-09-2023 07:31 AM

I’m hardly shocked that Cincy doesn’t feel it can pay 2 WRs 25-30mm a year. If you’re paying your QB at the top of the market you can’t have all the luxuries and have to trust that he can make average WRs look good.

I think Higgins is good but there’s no part of Veach that would be in the market for that type of receiver at that price point.

Thank God! We are blessed with Veach.

Coochie liquor 09-09-2023 11:11 AM

We’ll see just how good he is when he’s not opposite Chase.

Titty Meat 09-09-2023 11:14 AM

Won't be able to afford him wether we keep Jones or not

Eureka 09-09-2023 11:14 AM

Bengals going to trade him for draft capitol. Some team out there will pay it.

Red Dawg 09-09-2023 11:17 AM

No way they will pay Joe and then pay Chase over 30 mil per year and Higgins what he wants. It won't happen and if it did their defense would go down the tubes fast.

We could’ve had him drafting at the bottom of every round if the team hadn’t made one of the worst draft picks in recent memory when we took CEH.

Rainbarrel 09-09-2023 11:35 AM

he still wears a ring, survivable

So what kind of draft capitol will Higgins fetch for the Bengals?

They'll need to draft well and will need higher end picks for better results as they will need good players on rookie contracts.

Higgins worth two 2nd rd picks?

Rainbarrel 09-09-2023 11:51 AM

The Chargers may have a better shot going forward. Rivers had weapons and still took a good chunk of the cap

Right. He only lead the NFL in receiving yards last year while Chase was out 4 games.

Do you even football, bro?

Philly gave up a 1 and a 3 for AJ Brown. Tee would probably bring a 2 and a 3 at best, if they do it right. They may fool around and just get a comp pick for him.
