I’m fine with it. Especially in his limited role as Thornhill got healthy.

Not ideal, but with all of our other needs, it makes sense.

YAAAASSS!!

pugsnotdrugs19 03-22-2021 03:44 PM

I’ve never been in love with Dan as a player like some but I do recognize he brings a leadership quality to the room. Tyrann respects the guy a lot for a reason. Good guy to have in a room for your younger players.

staylor26 03-22-2021 03:44 PM

I think the Chiefs should still draft a safety on day 3.

These.

OKchiefs 03-22-2021 03:45 PM

Pretty indifferent about this, suppose he's not bad to have around. I do think we need to consider a #4 safety to replace Armani Watts, possibly in the draft. I think Sorensen can somewhat replicate what Mathieu offers, but I don't see anyone on the roster who can replace Thornhill as coverage safety.

chinaski 03-22-2021 03:46 PM

I like Dirty Dan's attitude

They’re about due to draft another safety. I fully expect them to get one on day 3. Maybe even in the 3rd.

TribalElder 03-22-2021 03:56 PM

That hit he had that caused the fumble through the endzone was so epic

ROFL

his tackle on the fake punt/fieldgoal or whatever vs the texans was legendary

ping2000 03-22-2021 03:58 PM

Send him south of the border over the summer to train and take a lot of steroids and growth hormone.

He's made some of the biggest plays in the history of the Chiefs franchise. Glad he's back.

O.city 03-22-2021 04:00 PM

I think he's a nice solid player.

Yep. Glad also.

oldman 03-22-2021 04:05 PM

He just seems to be in the right place at the right time when we need him most. I'll take him over Watts any day of the week. Oldman approves.

ChiliConCarnage 03-22-2021 04:52 PM

1 year deal sounds good. He's fine

-King- 03-22-2021 05:07 PM

I knew he's be back. Fine with it. He's made more good plays than bad including some game changing/season changing plays so I'll never hate him. Get Williams and the dbackfield should be fine for the most part.

Chiefs also re sign Nick Keizer to a one year deal

Baby Lee 03-22-2021 06:24 PM

He doesn't have the tools to make up for mistakes, but when he diagnoses correctly, he's on point.

Not everyone can be a blue-chipper.

He's not a cornerstone, but he's an asset.

srvy 03-22-2021 07:57 PM

CP doesn't appreciate Dan the man but seems like the people that matter on the coaching staff does. I welcome Dirty Dan for another one-year run.

I AGREE 100%!

morphius 03-23-2021 08:11 AM

Not taking away from the great plays he has made, and without him we may not have even made the Superbowl a year ago. But dang, I really wish our defense was good enough to not need him, a bunch of mediocrity with a few great plays scattered in.

tatorhog 03-23-2021 08:37 AM

does anybody have the clip of Dan karate chopping that dude at the end of the play form a few years ago?

Now that he has $2 mill more bucks, he can add a couple more wives!

saphojunkie 03-23-2021 11:34 AM

I hated Dan Sorenson. Hated him.

I've totally turned the corner. Dude has come up with big plays at the right moment enough times that it isn't a fluke. Love him as safety depth, but I am also excited to have Thornhill totally healthy and ready to get back to form.

That might be the most impressive defensive stop I've seen

****ing knocked the shit out of the guy on the goal line causing the ball to roll through the endzone and out of bounds

couldn't draw it up any better

He literally makes one game changing play every playoff game.

Wisconsin_Chief 03-23-2021 07:03 PM

$2.5 million for Dan is an absolute bargain.

He earned every penny of that just for that forced fumble against the Browns.

Dirt cheap.

BossChief 03-23-2021 07:11 PM

Pretty much exactly what I thought he would get. I let Beach know it was ok around 9am this morning.

You’re welcome.

You can never have enough good 2ndary guys and why you are always drafting them every year.;)

This. I think we got a little hometown discount. He knows he's good for the scheme and seems to love kc. Wonder if we also got a Mormon discount. Either way, this feels like a steal.

I think if we're getting concerned about a situational safety who's pretty good, I'd say that's a good problem to have.

Chargem 03-24-2021 02:54 AM

Well, I guess the 45th spot on the roster has to be filled by someone

May as well fill the spot with someone who has a knack for making huge plays in huge games.
