Actor Brian Dennehy dead

RIP.

Haven’t seen him in anything lately, but he was fairly prolific back in the 80s

First Blood, Silverado, and many many others.....

F150 04-16-2020 11:47 AM

oops

scho63 04-16-2020 11:52 AM

He was great in Cocoon and Presumed Innocent. He was short lived in Tommy Boy so that was not much of a role for screen time.

Wonder what's going to happen now to Callahan's?

RIP Brian Dennehy

Bowser 04-16-2020 11:52 AM

Great actor. RIP

stumppy 04-16-2020 11:53 AM

Damn.

Great actor.

Kman34 04-16-2020 11:57 AM

He was fun to watch.. Real asshole in First Blood...LMAO.. he will be missed

Cheater5 04-16-2020 11:58 AM

Yeah, well...

Piss on him.

Lying **** claimed for years he was wounded in combat in Vietnam; only when he was stone cold busted did he admit to making it up. Never stepped foot in country much less be in the vicinity of a red hot zinger headed in his direction.

We all die.

Ubeja Vontell 04-16-2020 12:01 PM

Footballer and rugby player, yep, can see that.

Remember that move where he was the town bully (based on a true story). My fav role for him.

Great actor.

R.I.P

He played that role perfectly.

NinerDoug 04-16-2020 12:03 PM

Played a great bad guy in Silverado.

Sorry to see him go.

RIP

Chief Northman 04-16-2020 12:04 PM

RIP Brian.

SuperBowl4 04-16-2020 12:06 PM

Nobody gets out of this alive. R.I.P. He played a lot of tough guy roles.

Randallflagg 04-16-2020 12:07 PM

I loved the guy in "Silverado" I always thought he fit that role perfectly. RIP

MahiMike 04-16-2020 12:09 PM

Heh, never had heard this. Checks out, though. So weird. Served honorably in Marines, then tainted his entire legacy by lying about seeing combat.

Hammock Parties 04-16-2020 12:10 PM

Rambo finally got him.

Very underrated movie. Dennehy was very good in it. Harrison Ford though walked a fine line between being plausible as the framed man or the actual perp. Great flick.

BigRedChief 04-16-2020 12:39 PM

The dude was a helluva actor in the 80’s. First blood, cocoon were excellent performances. RIP.

First time I remember seeing him was in North Dallas Forty. Loved that flick.

I never heard that also. I have a hard time with stolen valor being a Viet Nam combat retiree myself. If that is true, my opinion of him would drop about 10 points.....sad.

sedated 04-16-2020 02:11 PM

He could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves.

Monty 04-16-2020 02:51 PM

Great actor, Silverado and First Blood were my faves. RIP

Frazod 04-16-2020 02:59 PM

He was a great actor. I'm just going to pretend like I never heard about the stolen valor crap, since I never heard about it before today. I'm sure he paid a price for it.

He was awesome in Silverado and Rambo, and pretty much everything else I saw him in. And I concur about Presumed Innocent; that movie was amazing. Absolutely didn't see that twist coming. At all. Although I thought the late great Raul Julia blew everybody else away. He should have won an Oscar for his portrayal of Sandy Stern. Probably wasn't even nominated.

Dennehy was also the father of Elizabeth Dennehy, who played Commander Shelby in Star Trek.

RIP :(

Bob Dole 04-16-2020 03:18 PM

I thought Skidmore took care of him years ago.

loochy 04-16-2020 03:19 PM

Did someone say my name?

Who are you?

I'm Brian Dennehey.

What? No, not ****ing Brian Dennehey. Get the **** out of here.

Oh. Bye.

Yeah the stolen valor is new to me as well, it definitely takes a lot of shine off this guy for me

But I did love Rambo and Tommy Boy, sooo RIP Brian

fan4ever 04-16-2020 03:45 PM

A good movie that's often overlooked with him and James Woods is "Best Seller" where woods is a hit man and he's a retired cop turned author...and Woods wants him to write a book about his experiences. There's a great scene where woods kills a guy in a photo booth.

Hoopsdoc 04-16-2020 07:52 PM

Great great actor.

Bwana 04-16-2020 08:00 PM

Well crap, RIP.

IowaHawkeyeChief 04-16-2020 08:04 PM

RIP I think he was in "Cacoon"

KChiefs1 04-16-2020 10:16 PM
