Haven’t seen him in anything lately, but he was fairly prolific back in the 80s

He was great in Cocoon and Presumed Innocent. He was short lived in Tommy Boy so that was not much of a role for screen time.

Lying **** claimed for years he was wounded in combat in Vietnam; only when he was stone cold busted did he admit to making it up. Never stepped foot in country much less be in the vicinity of a red hot zinger headed in his direction.

Remember that move where he was the town bully (based on a true story). My fav role for him.

Very underrated movie. Dennehy was very good in it. Harrison Ford though walked a fine line between being plausible as the framed man or the actual perp. Great flick.

The dude was a helluva actor in the 80’s. First blood, cocoon were excellent performances. RIP.

I never heard that also. I have a hard time with stolen valor being a Viet Nam combat retiree myself. If that is true, my opinion of him would drop about 10 points.....sad.

He was a great actor. I'm just going to pretend like I never heard about the stolen valor crap, since I never heard about it before today. I'm sure he paid a price for it.

He was awesome in Silverado and Rambo, and pretty much everything else I saw him in. And I concur about Presumed Innocent; that movie was amazing. Absolutely didn't see that twist coming. At all. Although I thought the late great Raul Julia blew everybody else away. He should have won an Oscar for his portrayal of Sandy Stern. Probably wasn't even nominated.

Dennehy was also the father of Elizabeth Dennehy, who played Commander Shelby in Star Trek.

Yeah the stolen valor is new to me as well, it definitely takes a lot of shine off this guy for me

But I did love Rambo and Tommy Boy, sooo RIP Brian

A good movie that's often overlooked with him and James Woods is "Best Seller" where woods is a hit man and he's a retired cop turned author...and Woods wants him to write a book about his experiences. There's a great scene where woods kills a guy in a photo booth.
