Please tell me about Byron Pringle

Homer takes, non-homer takes, hater takes. I'll take any takes please.

Are we talking a guy when talking about potential to go from UDFA to bona fide NFL starter like Rod Smith if you squint long and hard enough? Maybe a Boerigter/Chris Horn type?

Preseason flash-in-the-pan guy who's all burst and no staying power?

Whatcha got?

Titty Meat 01-23-2019 12:49 PM

Was just thinking about him last night. Explosive hidden gem.

Bowser 01-23-2019 12:50 PM

Hard to say at this point from information available, but I'd say he's the odds on favorite to replace Conley right now. I know our resident K-State fans gush over him.

The Franchise 01-23-2019 12:50 PM

Well first off...his name is Byron.

Mecca 01-23-2019 12:52 PM

Uh well he's probably taking Chris Conleys job.

Is Byron in for a rude awakening! There is already an organization, a human one, known as "Phoebus," the international light-bulb cartel, headquartered in Switzerland. Run pretty much by International GE, Osram, and Associated Electrical Industries of Britain, which are in turn owned 100%, 29% and 46%, respectively, by the General Electric Company in America. Phoebus fixes the prices and determines the operational lives of all the bulbs in the world, from Brazil to Japan to Holland (although Philips in Holland is the mad dog of the cartel, apt at any time to cut loose and sow disaster throughout the great Combi-nation). Given this state of general repression, there seems noplace for a newborn Baby Bulb to start but at the bottom.

Hoping for the same thing.

Sammy seems like a half a season type of guy...

Need to keep feeding Mahomes, whether Pringle or a draft pick.

Not sold on Robinson being consistent.

Dante84 01-23-2019 01:16 PM

Big play WR, will be a great mid-deep threat for Mahomes.

Chiefs Moon 01-23-2019 01:19 PM

Conley needs to go. Pringle would be a great option. Hope the Chiefs draft or sign another to push Robinson and Pringle.

Buehler445 01-23-2019 01:21 PM

Few things,

He's kind of old. He's a 25 YO rookie.

He had some nice games at KSU with some REALLY garbage QBs.

He's got nice speed - even though it's hard to see in a Bill Snyder offense, I wasn't aware so much of his agility, but it looked good on the routes in preseason.

I liked the way he looked in preseason, but in reality, that's all we've got and it's a criminally small sample size.

big nasty kcnut 01-23-2019 01:24 PM

He can run and make those cuts you expect a wr to do.

Why Not? 01-23-2019 01:58 PM

I’ve nothing against the kid and hope he and think he will get a shot to prove himself. But, until then, JAG until proven otherwise.

T-post Tom 01-23-2019 02:16 PM

Hear he's got a good looking hernia.

I've turned a corner a bit with Robinson. I still feel like there is untapped potential there, but as he is right now in this offense with the personnel around him, he is the PERFECT #4 WR to run out there.

This is my hope for him. He has HUGE sleeper potential next year -

Mahomes in shotgun, Williams on his right
Tyreek, Watkins and Kelce in a stacked bunch on the left, Pringle out wide to the right.

In that look, Pringle should see nothing but single coverage (possibly from a third safety) and be wide the hell open on deep in cuts or hooks. I'm excited to see it.

I would welcome that for a year. I was high on Conley and thought he was a notch below Watkins. Boy was I wrong!

*edit-

Flip Pringle and Watkins in that scenario. Put Pringle in the bunch and have him run the middle deep route with Hill taking the top off and Kelce getting bracketed in that 8-12 yard range. Hill will demand a double team as will Kelce, and Watkins will likely draw the #1 corner, leaving Pringle and his speed/athleticism one on one with a dime DB.

Molitoth 01-23-2019 02:33 PM

That will actually be Robinson. Although Byron was set to make the final 53 before the injury.

RealSNR 01-23-2019 07:12 PM

To be quite honest, I could see us using DAT a lot more next year. I think that's what's going to end up replacing Conley even though they're completely different players.

DAT is no Hill, but he can be used to do some of the same things. We lost a little bit of that "unguardable" dimension when DAT got hurt.

Pringle may come in at the end to pick up the scraps with a little bit more size.

What do we do when DAT inevitably is injured by week 5?

Go with somebody else. Just like we did this year.

DAT apparently wants to stay on this team and play for peanuts. That's what he did this year. He'll probably do it again.

And if I'm Veach, I give him another deal just like that.

Jewish Rabbi 01-23-2019 08:14 PM

MAG 01-23-2019 09:33 PM

Good speed, was always open, and racked up quite a few big plays at K-State despite a very unfriendly passing game. Only negative is that he did have some issues with drops.

With Haglunds cheering from the sideline will our defense get enough rest?

'Hamas' Jenkins 01-23-2019 09:37 PM

I think the Chiefs need to target a possession WR to help them move the chains/extend drives.

I know that sounds crazy when you have Hill, Watkins, and Kelce, but the GSoT Rams had Ricky Proehl to fill that gap and they don't beat Tampa without him. They probably wouldn't catch more than 30-40 balls a year, but those kinds of guys are invaluable, especially in the playoffs

Always considered that the type of role Robinson would assume in spite of his size.

Marcus Kemp "should" be that guy for us, but I just don't see him cracking the lineup any time soon. ST'er only.

Yeah, that would do it. I'd love to see what he could do in this offense lined up with Hill, Kelce, and Watkins. I just don't think he's going to sign here.

Hopefully Pringle will kicked someone off the roster. I'm tired of waiting on Conley and Robinson. They should be making impact by now if they are ever going to.

When I mean possession guys I'm thinking more of a slot WR that runs crisp routes and can get you 8-10 yards, not disgusting fatbodies with worse hands than a post-amputation Arabian bazaar thief.

JakeF 01-23-2019 09:58 PM

What about Cole Beasley? I think he's burned some bridges in Dallas.

LMAO

It's funny because it's true. Mahomes practically implanted a football in his chest between the 8 and 1 in the end zone, yet he still dropped it.

Shit, give me Kemp all week long over Kentucky Fried Benjamin.

Saw that. Also saw how he immediately threw out the LOL tweet in an attempt to back track, too.

Honestly, I think WR should be way down the list of shit we need to go shop for this offseason. Pringle, Robinson, Kemp, Deiter…...let one of those guys step up and take on the Proehl role Hamas is talking about.

Hey, thanks for dredging up memories of Haley, Cassel, and that ass pounding we took against the Ravens in the playoffs. Cassel had 73 yards passing for the entire game with Kevin Curtis and Dwayne Bowe. ****ing phenomenal.

I have no doubt that if Dieter was a Patriot he'd somehow be catching 60 balls for 800 yards and 8 TDs a year.

What's wrong here?

Andy Reid is supposed to have the best offensive mind in history.
Patrick Mahomes has all the makings of an elite QB.
We have several other options to open things up.
Our offensive line is decent when healthy.
Running game is decent.

Told my brother in law the same thing at the game. They need a guy that can play there in the slot and win those little jerk routes consistently and get 7 or 8 yards consistently.
