Another foot injury keeping a Chiefs player out after a day to day designation. We shouldn't be surprised.

Last game Mahomes had 200 yards and 2 TDS in the first half. They went conservative because the Cardinals had no chance. Plus Mahomes took a million hits. Watkins absence means nothing.

I'm thinking that they wanted to see if he could go yesterday and he passed that assessment based on his participation and post-practice reports, and now they let him get the day off today since they know he's good to go.

Put Watkins in the lineup with the rest of the crew and it’s gonna be real tough to hold KC under 35. Not sure the same can be said when he’s not in there.

If Watkins being in or out of the lineup didn’t make a pretty darn big difference, KC wouldn’t have paid him $16M per year.

They go from one of the all-time great units probably to just very good without him.

The games Watkins has missed, the offense is significantly weaker.

I have watched about 6 videos tonight - but one said that Reid expected Sammy to play - earlier today he said this, apparently. So he'll play - cool it.

A clear difference to me even when Watkins doesn't catch a ton of passes. He still forces defenses to be spread much thinner. It seems like Kelce might benefit the most from Watkins being in the lineup.

The Chiefs without Watkins makes me think a high pick needs to be spent on a WR in Watkins final contract year, won't be enough money on the books for two high paid receivers and Hill is getting paid.

Really? He's already on a short 3y deal, we have bigger holes, and Robinson in my view still deserves a shot (I think we already know Conley's ceiling). I would be shocked if we took a receiver with a high pick next year.

I saw this morning that Watkins is upgraded to probable, but now Houston is listed as questionable with the hamstring. I don’t know how legit the site is but it is “Don Best”.(I’m not allowed to post a link as a newb)

Watkins final year I said, which is the draft after next. Of the other receivers, I'm actually most intrigued by Pringle. I think Robinson is capable of filling a Conley type role

I agree. We have several WRs stashed on IR, inactive, and the PS that could step up.

I agree with the second part. With the first part, players get paid tons of money all the time in FA and don't work out. His actual contract numbers aren't really proof of the kind of impact he has.

However seeing our offense without him is starting to become proof. It's happened a couple times and dropped off each time.

Those designations aren't made until after practice today, so he's almost certainly just going off of random rumors.

I'll give you non-n00b powers, though, because I'm in a good mood. :)
