I’m a class of 2013 guy, but I can admit that its probably one of the worst years. If not the worst.

The ones who joined in 1999 were the most visionary. But they moved on before we could learn from them.

2013 was the join year of most if not all Alexsexuals. And while they were fine for the most part, they made the last two years hell at times.

It would be awesome to see a list of "active" Cp'ers from each year. I know you can do the members list thing but it is 10 miles long and many are not around much if at all. Especially the posters that just registered for some particular game or reason many years ago. Had a hot spot for a few days or whatever, and have never been back.

Just me rambling, I will vote for whatever year I joined as soon as I post this and see what year that was :D

Seriously, what happened in 2005 that was such a surge in CP membership? We exaggerate a bit about it being the "best" obviously, but there really are a ton of guys who joined that year and ended up sticking around for the long term.

It would be interesting to see a breakdown by year of the number of users who registered that year and stuck around to have >100 posts, and total number of posts generated by users dated from that year.

There was a lot of enthusiasm for the 2005 Chiefs because on paper, they'd beefed up their defense with the addition of Derrick Johnson, Kendrell Bell, Sammy Knight and Patrick Surtain.

LJ exploded with 1,750 yards after taking over for Priest Holmes and there was plenty of excitement for the Chiefs to make a run in the playoffs.

Unfortunately, they missed the cut even though they went 10-6.

I've got the data pulled and in Excel if anyone wants to mess with it. Feel free to post any interesting trends.

I originally signed up in 2002. I was never activated. I lurked until I signed up again. That's why there is an 02 at the end of my user name.

2005 itself was a really good year. Lots of great rock songs came out then too.

I'd say just about anyone 2006 and prior.

I think that's what Daface is referencing. That's when they turned on the new user registration where a mod had to check new accounts and sign off it wasn't a multiple before the account could post. It took time and a lot of ppl would just never check back. If memory serves

Yep. Correlation is not causation and all that, but it seems pretty obvious that systematically delaying gratification for new users would cause many to just lose interest.
