Butker......

Is balling like a kicker should.

Sassy Squatch 10-09-2017 06:23 AM

He's putting it almost right down the middle every time.

CupidStunt 10-09-2017 06:33 AM

Kicking is simple AF, even though so many turds fail. You need a big leg and a clear mind. It's crazy how many guys have the leg and no mindset for it, or others who are reliable but weak-legged. Looks like we got lucky with this guy. The Panthers drafted him, even kept him on the 53 to open the year - clearly very talented, and he seems to have it between the ears after his first shank.

Has he had a single kickoff which didn't leave the back of the endzone? Might have the strongest leg in football.

hometeam 10-09-2017 06:36 AM

I'm picking him up in fantasy~

redfan 10-09-2017 06:45 AM

...is nails.
I can't believe this has happened to the Chiefs, maybe we've turned a corner in the grand scheme.

TLO 10-09-2017 06:45 AM

He's been great so far.

2 kick returns allowed last night. But generally, kicks it out of the back of the EZ. Love it.

Chiefnj2 10-09-2017 06:51 AM

Good job by Veach signing the kid. You look at Tampa on Thursday night and you see just how bad it can get with a kicker.

Tribal Warfare 10-09-2017 06:56 AM

Brett Veach working doing his job

Gonzo 10-09-2017 06:59 AM

I'll miss the little Brazilian bomber. He was decent.

bevischief 10-09-2017 07:34 AM

With this name. What else are we missing?

I liked Cairo. He was solid.

But I think Butker is our guy now.

Bittersweet feelings.......

FringeNC 10-09-2017 10:41 AM

The ball explodes off his leg -- he's better than Santos.

Have we had a kicker with anywhere near that much power in recent memory?

I mean shit, he was probably tired. We scored 8 or 9 times?

Really pumped about this guy!

Kiimo 10-09-2017 12:50 PM

Him missing his first kick and then proceeding to kick ass ever since is very similar to Kareem's first carry / fumble.

I mean dude looks fantastic.

OldSchool 10-09-2017 01:04 PM

He looks better than Santos. I used to hold my breath every time Santos had to kick a fieldgoal.

While Butker looks very good, you’re still an idiot.

Santos was great, and you had no reason “hold your breath everytime” he had to kick a FG.

suzzer99 10-09-2017 01:23 PM

Last year Santos came a millimeter away from one of the biggest kicking **** ups in chiefs history. He made me nervous ever since.

Yup. I also never trusted his leg any time the team had to kick a 50+ yarder.

It's great. Reid and co. are good at their jobs. Philly was dumb for not keeping him. I have to give some credit to Clark Hunt too. People call him cheap and what not, but he hired one of the most highly touted GMs available in Pioli. When that didn't work out, he cleaned house and got the next best available GM and HC.

thegame214 10-09-2017 01:44 PM

For whatever reason I never trusted Santos, I'd turn away every time crossing fingers lol Butker looks solid.

Kiimo 10-09-2017 02:17 PM

I mean I trusted Santos. I thought he was better than Succup.

But Santos is a tiny soccer player. I guess so is Butker. I mean I have to say I trust a 6'4 soccer player named Buttkicker way more than a 5'8 kicker.

Also Buttkicker was fantastic in college apparently.

Butker was a third-team All-ACC pick by league media in 2016, connecting on 17-of-18 field goal attempts (long of 52 yards), making all 46 extra point tries and forcing 54 touchbacks on 73 kickoffs.

Shaid 10-09-2017 03:05 PM

Santos always worried me when we got up over 40 yards. It wasn't that he wasn't accurate but he didn't have a strong leg so I was always worried he'd need to put more on the ball and it would make him less accurate. I know the guy was accurate, I just was uneasy. For some reason that I can't explain, I don't feel that way with Butker. Maybe it's just this magical season.

ToxSocks 10-09-2017 03:10 PM

I have no reason to like Butt Kicker more than Santos, but i just do. Butt Kicker doesn't stress me out every attempt like Santos did.

Like i said, i have no reasonable explanation for that.

LMAO

Yeah, this. I know the feels...

Chiefshrink 10-09-2017 03:17 PM

This kid Matthew McCrane for Kansas State has a heckuva leg as well. Missed a 54 yard FG hitting the left upright about half way up. That is a big leg !!

we might never fully appreciate him because touchdowns only

He's a stud.

Love that kid.

Hydrae 04-01-2020 07:50 PM

58 yards? It almost looks like that is the opposite 40 which would make that 78 yards.

77 yards according to his hashtag; dude is nuts.

Rain Man 04-01-2020 08:30 PM

It's amazing that we were able to snatch him off another team's practice squad. What a buffoon move by the Panthers, and a genius move by Veach.
