Tony Gonzalez also compared Alex Smith to Aaron Rodgers. Who would of thought that the QB on our roster that resembled Rodgers wasn't Mahomes!

except he wasnt, if you watched the video and see their full explanation of why they said it. They said, he's no Rodgers, but thats the closest thing you can compare him too. I dont think they were far fetched with their analysis of Alex.

There are a lot of Chiefs fans who work for Fox.

GMFB has been on the Chiefs for a long time. They also love Mahomes too.

LOL it's only been 2 weeks. There are still 2 other AFCW teams that also have 2-0 records.

This will be a dogfight all season. Both teams are very capable of beating the Chiefs, regardless of what happened last year. And IIRC, the Chiefs just squeaked by in one of their wins vs both DEN and OAK last season.

Both teams WILL test KC's CB depth..or lack thereof. Both teams can pound the rock. They can both rush the passer well, and Denver has the best CB duo in the league. I wouldn't crown KC the best just yet. Last year doesn't mean anything.

So many pundits picked the Chiefs to finish last or third because of Smith. Now Smith is basically saying **** you bitches it's Smitty time in KC

Yeah and those other teams have not played near the quality of teams that we have.

The only thing these wins count for is playoff seeding. The New England in Week 1 won't be the same team three months from now so it's pretty stupid to declare "best in the league" at this point.

I don't think that really matters. Each week is different. Both teams have looked solid. The reality of it is both teams present major problems for KC.

And again...we're 2 games into the season. LOL there are 14 left.

Gonna be a fun year. Best division in the NFL.

I understand they have looked pretty good and all that. I also understand that if either one were 1-1 it changes things within the division and league. It is easy to be the Jets and an over hyped Cowboys that have players that quit on them during the game. Lets see if either one could be the Patriots and the likely winner of the NFC East.

Really good takes by JWhit. He backed up his statement with a reasonable disclaimer. As far as their toolkits, they are similar, especially regarding size and mobility. Rodgers is no doubt the better passer, but through 2 games, Rodgers is the most comparable.

I wish JWhit would post here occasionally again. He could be the second most credible part of this board if he were a regular contributor, outside of GBlow's 10 Things.

The only competition so far for that top spot has all been from the other AFCW teams (Oakland and Denver).

Last time was the 9-0 run under Vermeil.

First negative article I had ever seen on the Chiefs was from him. I was such an unabashed homer and it was such a foreign perspective that I wrote him and the Star a letter to which he actually responded. It had to be close to 20 years ago.

Oh how times have changed.

He's posted since then. I want to say in 2015 he had some activity(maybe during the Royals run?). I'd take him and Posnanski when they both were at the Star and enter them in any contest determining what city had the two best sportswriters ever at the same time. I love his(both of their)work. Don't always agree with all of his perspectives but he speaks his truth and always has an interesting take.

There were times back in the day when he annoyed me, but I never really hated him. I do also happen to agree with a lot of his takes, or at least somewhat.

It is making me a little nervous but not because I believe in jinxes. I just hope the team doesn't let that hype get to their heads. They need to stay focused on the prize.
